Chapter 194 You’re The Reason

Stella’s shoes landed with a crunch on the shattered glass.

Each step made the glass crunch louder beneath her feet.

On the other side of the car, Jake, looking a bit goofy, rolled Sebastian over in his wheelchair.

Jake couldn’t help but sigh, his mind full of dramatic thoughts as he took in the chaos around him.

‘I even asked them nicely to move out of the way, Jake muttered to himself.

Jake shook his head.

The lon Wing Drones employees, who’d already been warned by Jake to move away, just kept staring at Stella. Then they looked at the busted door, then back at Stella, and then at the door again.

They kept doing that.

Everyone was just speechless.

Stella strode out, her expression icy and unreadable. With every step, the menacing crunch of shattered glass under her shoes sent chills down everyone’s spine.

Forced by Stella’s sheer presence, dozens of six-foot-tall, ridiculously handsome men in black all turned to the girl and flashed her the exact same international-standard smile.

The girl just stared, completely speechless.

Her tears dried up on the spot.

She blushed hard.

She was dying to scream.

She was so overwhelmed.

‘This insane stroke of luck is totally mine!’ she thought, practically vibrating with excitement.

Stella said, “Could you please take them to the Chief Accountant, and then up to the CEO’s office on the top floor?”

“Got it!” The girl jumped up without a second thought

She shot up and dashed off at once.

Stella was speechless.

‘Guess this really is a world where looks are everything, she thought.

Upstairs, the conversation went on.

Penelope said, “Blake, you have no idea how valuable that land in the South District is. If you keep it, it’ll just go to waste. Why not let Xander take over?

“Pierce Group will pay lon Wing Drones regular dividends. Both you and Pierce Group will benefit from this.”

Her words sounded like a negotiation, but it was obvious that she was here to get her way, no matter what.

Blake looked at Penelope, his expression complicated. “Aunt Penelope, how do you know I can’t make something out of that land?”

Ever since he was a kid, Blake had always thought Penelope was the one who cared about him the most.

She even got him his own place and paid someone to take care of him.

Back when things were rough with his grandpa, he did think about just swallowing his pride and making up.

He didn’t get it until after that dinner at the Lane residence where Stella taught him a scheme he’d never heard before.

If it hadn’t been for Nova Legends, that wild in-game wedding, and the lessons he got from Starfall and Moondust, Blake would’ve spent his whole life as that immature, arrogant Arrogant Wind, thinking he was

invincible.

Penelope said, “Blake, it’s not that I’m underestimating you. It’s just… you’ve never really grown up all these

years.”

Blake kept his face blank. “But wasn’t it you who taught me all this?”

He lifted his head, straightening his spine just like Stella had shown him, and stared right into Penelope’s eyes, as if he could see straight through her. The smile on her lips froze.

Blake said, “You taught me to be a good-for-nothing. You taught me to just pay my way out of everything. You taught me to act like I’m better than everyone. You taught me to stir up trouble.

“Aunt Penelope, you guys are the reason I turned out like this!”

Blake’s sidekick was stunned.

He thought, ‘Not to kill the vibe, but did Mr. Pierce just drop a whole string of serious talk?

‘Wow! He’s actually making sense now!

“Mom, stop wasting your breath on him!” Xander straightened his tie and motioned for the thugs at the door to come in.

One of the thugs casually locked the door behind them.

“Anyone who wants a piece of Mr. Pierce has to get through me first!” Blake’s sidekick yelled, throwing his arms out to shield Blake.

But before he could even finish, a fist smashed into his face. Then he went down, face-first.

The thug didn’t even flinch and just stepped right over his body like it was nothing.

Blake didn’t know what to say.

With a heavy thud, Blake was slammed face-first onto the desk, right into a pile of resignation letters. Suddenly, it struck him that lon Wing Drones was on the brink, just like he was now, barely holding on.

‘Stella… Blake thought, his heart aching.

“Make him sign!” Xander’s mask was off now. Ruthlessness and self-interest were written all over his face.

The thug smirked and yanked Blake’s right hand forward.
