Then, the arrow whistled through the air.
It came with deadly force, enough to make anyone’s heart skip a beat.

Chloe was rooted to the spot, her eyes wide with terror as she watched the arrow hurtle straight for her face.
Her life hung in the balance.
Just when everyone thought Chloe was done for, Garrett, the middle-aged bodyguard at her side, gripped her shoulder and quickly stepped forward, shielding her with his own body.
The sharp arrow pierced straight through Garrett’s shoulder blade.
The arrowhead came out with bits of skin and flesh still clinging to it.
Chloe screamed, “Ah!”
Her scream pierced the sky.
Everyone nearby stared in horror, eyes wide as they all turned to Sebastian, who lowered his longbow with a frosty look. In that moment, the murderous aura around him was off the charts.
Garrett let out a muffled groan, his face turning ghostly pale as huge beads of sweat rolled down his cheeks.
“Miss Everhart!” Lillian’s expression changed dramatically, her face full of shock.
She rushed over, trying to steady Chloe, who looked like she was about to pass out from terror. Lillian shuddered at the thought-if Sebastian’s arrow had hit this delicate girl, getting scarred would’ve been the least of her problems.
But before Lillian could get any closer, another arrow came flying out of nowhere.
With a sharp whoosh, it struck the ground right in front of her.
Lillian just stood there, stunned.
Lillian’s eyes widened in terror. She was rooted to the spot, too scared to even breathe.
Lillian hesitated for a moment before finally turning her head.
Sebastian’s longbow was now in Stella’s hands. Stella stood under the blazing sun in a traditional tailored skirt, looking like she was part of the sunlight itself.
When Lillian glanced over, a faint, icy smile appeared on her flawless face.
Despite the scorching heat, Lillian felt a chill run down her spine.
Stella said, “Don’t move.”

Her voice was casual, but the warning in it was unmistakable.

As she lifted the bow with one hand, the flowing sleeve of her white blouse slipped back, revealing her delicate arm, tensed as she drew the string to its full strength.
After letting the arrow fly, Stella lazily flicked her wrist and plucked another arrow from John’s hand.
She spun the arrow in a flourish between her fingers, and then nocked it onto the string.
Her eyes locked on the target.
Celia gasped, “Stella, are you out of your mind?”
When she called Stella by her real name, it finally clicked for everyone that this drop-dead gorgeous girl was actually the infamous ugly duckling they’d all been gossiping about.
They thought, ‘How could she look nothing like those photos in the group chat?’
Meanwhile, Carlos, blocked by those sidekicks, was fuming with impotent rage. “Stella, don’t you dare!”
All his old grudges and new beefs boiled over. He was so mad that he was practically foaming at the mouth.
Stella arched an eyebrow at his words.
She shifted the longbow in her hand, aiming it straight at Carlos.
Carlos froze.
Richard, who had been standing right next to Carlos, sprang away like a coiled spring, moving so fast that he left a blur in the air.
Everyone who saw it was stunned.
Stella gave a light laugh and let go of the string.
The arrow shot straight out.
Carlos was stunned, his face frozen in shock. Before he could even move, the arrow zipped past his ear and nailed itself into the massive trunk Richard dove behind.
The arrow quivered, ringing out from the impact.
Stella said, “Of course I dare.”
Her voice was calm, the tassels of her hairpin trembling behind her ear, sparkling brilliantly in the sunlight. She was breathtaking.
Carlos’s knees buckled and he hit the ground hard.
Blood trickled from his ear.

Almost at the same time, those sidekicks threw up their hands. “Hey, don’t frame us! We didn’t lay a finger on you!”
Everyone stood there, dumbstruck.
Over there, Garrett was still gripping the arrow in his shoulder, reassuring Chloe, “Ms. Everhart, I’m fine!”
Chloe, with tears streaming down her face, glared up at Sebastian and yelled, “Bullying women? What kind of man are you?”
But Sebastian didn’t even spare her a glance, just idly twirling the black prayer beads on his wrist.
Blake snorted, “Weren’t you the one who fired first, trying to hurt Stella?”
Chloe shot back, “But she’s fine, isn’t she?”
They thought, ‘Isn’t that just next-level shameless?’
And suddenly, Blake shot a look at his crew. “Did you guys hear that?”
His crew nodded like bobbleheads. “All of us have heard it!”
Blake said, “Man, it’s been a long time since I’ve heard someone spout bullshit this loud!”
He took a deep breath.
Then he snapped, “Stella’s fine because she’s a total badass. Your bodyguard got hurt because he had to look after your useless self. You never do anything right, just keep causing trouble.
“People talk about jinxing parents, but you? This is the first time I’ve ever seen someone jinx their own bodyguard!”
Blake didn’t hold back at all.
“You all see what that is?” Blake said, pointing at the arrow stuck in the ground in front of Lillian.
His crew chimed in, “Arrow!”
The next second, Blake gave Chloe a big thumbs-up. “You asked for it, bitch!”
Big Ben, standing nearby, started clapping enthusiastically.
It kept cheering.
Not far away, Conrad shot Big Ben a thoughtful look, his brows furrowed like he was trying to figure something out.
Blake waved his hand with a grin. “Alright, let’s keep it chill!”
Stella stayed silent.

Everyone was stunned.

They thought, ‘Since when did Blake, the Pierce family’s playboy, get so good at talking smack?’
Chloe was fuming, her face burning red with anger and humiliation. “You… You’re all bullying me!”
Stella spoke up, her tone lazy and mocking. “Bullying? Do you even know what real bullying looks like?”
