Chapter 258
Suddenly, a gun was jammed against the back of his head.
The assassin froze. He thought, ‘What the hell?
‘Damn it!
‘Did someone just sneak up on me?
‘But I didn’t hear a damn thing!
‘This is utter disgrace!’
Suddenly, a laid-back chuckle came from behind him. “Your pulse is racing.”
The assassin clammed up.
He thought, ‘Of course! There’s a gun to my

head!
The assassin slowly raised his hands and turned his head.

Standing behind him was the gorgeous girl who’d just swooped in on horseback to save the day, looking totally chill with a gun in one hand. She caught his gaze, gave a little wave with her free hand, and said, “Hi.”
The assassin was speechless.
‘Damn, this is humiliating!’ he thought, burning with shame.
The wind whipped across the rooftop, and Stella’s long hair fanned out behind her like seaweed. Her smile faded into something unreadable.
Ten minutes later, with his jaw knocked out of place, the assassin couldn’t even scream. He was writhing in agony, his face twisted into a mask of pure horror.
One after another, black Bloodworms wriggled into his body through his ears, nose, and mouth.
His eyes were locked on the poison capsule he’d once hidden under his tongue, now lying just a few feet away on the ground.
‘Just kill me already!’ he screamed in his mind, desperation clawing at his throat.
Stella casually fiddled with the clear glass vial in her hand. She’d saved a few Bloodworms from her last trip to Victor, and they were finally getting some use.
A whistle drifted on the wind.

Chapter 258
:
Agony tore through him. Death would be a mercy right now.
Stella stared off into the distance, her expression cold and indifferent. “Hurts, doesn’t it?”

These Bloodworms were a special breed she’d engineered herself, using ViperShade’s secret formula.
They didn’t just drain people’s blood. They chewed through people’s organs, inflicting a kind of agony no ordinary person could ever fathom.
And Stella’s blood was the only antidote in existence.
Stella lifted her hand, her eyes icy as she stared at her own veins.
Her blood wasn’t as strong as it used to be, but after ViperShade’s treatment, it had already regained about seventy percent of its potency.
The assassin’s limbs were all shattered, and he could only crawl inch by inch toward the poison capsule.
Ragged, painful noises tore from his throat.
Finally, he bit down on the capsule without a second thought.
He sprawled out on the rooftop, and a look of relief washed over his face.
He let out his last breath.
Stella just stood there, silent. She thought, ‘Man, the assassin syndicate’s killers get lamer every generation.
‘The first batch could at least hold out for an hour.’
She looked totally unimpressed.
Downstairs, Blake straightened up, stepping in front of Sebastian to block the nosy stares from the crowd, especially those trying to sneak a peek at Sebastian’s legs under that black blanket.
Sebastian frowned.
But before Sebastian could say a word, John ghosted over, leaned in close, and murmured a quick update in
his ear.
Sebastian’s pale, striking face stayed perfectly blank as he absently rolled the prayer beads between his fingers.
After a while, he said, “Get someone to clean it up.”
“Yes, sir,” John said.
He turned and went off to handle the cleanup.
At the same time, the assassin syndicate’s official website was refreshed.
Thanks to the tracking chip implanted under the assassin’s skin, the syndicate was notified one minute after

his heart stopped.
The forum was buzzing with new posts.
The chats: [Another one bites the dust!]
[Is this confirmed?]
[Red Rank One is really something else!]
[At this rate, Red Rank One’s gonna run out of assassins to kill!]

[That’s No. 258, right? If you lined up all their urns, you could set up 64 tables for a massive game down there!]
[Can the mods at least come out and confirm this?]
Suddenly, the chat came to an abrupt halt.
The reason was obvious. Something off had just infiltrated this supposedly airtight private forum. Instantly, the bleeding black-and-white photos of the assassin syndicate’s newly ranked top ten flashed across every member’s screen.
Then, for all to see, the photos were ripped in half with brutal force.
And right after, that infamous middle finger was flipped again.
Everyone was speechless.
They all cursed inwardly, ‘Damn it!’
Stella was chilling right on the edge of the rooftop, legs swinging, totally unfazed. When John and his crew came up, they saw her casually scrolling through her phone, looking cocky and cool as ever.
“Here you are,” she said, not even glancing up, and tossed the gun back to John.
John snatched it out of the air with one hand, smooth as always.
“Ms. Carter, next time, let me handle this. No need for you to get your hands dirty,” John said, shooting a serious look at the mess on the ground.
Stella looked up, puzzled. “Huh?”
She didn’t get her hands dirty.
John pointed at all the blood splattered across the ground.
Stella waved it off. “Oh, I didn’t even fire a shot.”
John was confused.

He glanced down at the magazine and saw that not a single bullet was missing. His gaze went a little complicated.
Stella cocked her head, thought for a moment, and said, “He offed himself.”
John felt silent.
‘Yeah, right. Like I’m supposed to believe that,’ he thought.
Stella was speechless.
‘Suit yourself, Stella thought, rolling her eyes.
“Don’t move!” Stella suddenly looked up at the guy about to drag the body away. “Leave it there.”
John let out a sigh. “Ms. Carter, we still need to clean this up.”
Before he could finish, Stella swung herself down from the edge of the rooftop with one hand, and then fished a tiny bottle from her skirt pocket.
John had been with Sebastian for years, so he’d seen all sorts of strange things over the years.
He recognized that bottle in a heartbeat. It was the kind the royal family used back in ancient times.
Before he could even react, the next second, he felt silent.
He just watched as Stella, totally unfazed, sprinkled the white powder over the body and the blood. There was a sharp hiss, and a cloud of white smoke billowed up.
Stella lazily glanced up. “Don’t bother with all that hassle.”
Everyone else stood frozen.
For the next three minutes, they just stared as the huge assassin melted into a puddle, and then turned into smoke. Then he was gone.
Just like that.
John said, “Ms. Carter?”
For once, his stone-cold face actually showed shock as he whipped his head toward Stella, completely floored.
Stella just gave a lazy smile. “Nobody was here, and nothing ever happened. Am I right?”
She looked totally unfazed.
John was stunned.
Honestly, John was starting to feel a little sorry for that assassin.
He thought, ‘How the hell did he end up on Ms. Carter’s radar?

Chapter 258
‘Poor guy.
“John, what are you thinking about?” Stella asked.
Stella’s eyes narrowed dangerously.
:
John straightened up, stone-faced and dead serious. “Nothing at all!”
Stella was speechless.
She thought, ‘Fine, whatever.
‘No need to be so serious about it.’
“Let’s go,” Stella said, turning to leave.
She’d been gone for a while, and she was starting to get a little worried about Sebastian.

“Oh, okay!” John replied, but his eyes kept drifting back to the spot where the assassin had been lying. Now it was cleaner than clean, not even a trace left behind.
But when John saw which way Stella was heading, he quickly called out to her, “Ms. Carter, the door’s over here…” He pointed toward the rooftop exit.
Stella was speechless.
She thought, ‘I’m not blind, thanks.’
“The elevators in this building are kinda slow,” Stella said, her tone lazy and unbothered.
She said it so casually, but John couldn’t shake the feeling that something was about to go down.
“So… what does that mean?” John stammered, a little thrown off.
Stella just pointed at the edge of the rooftop, totally unfazed. “So I’m going this way.”
John was confused.
And just like that, he watched as Stella, totally unfazed, flipped over the edge and leaped off the rooftop like it was nothing.
He was stunned.
He couldn’t help but feel totally outclassed whenever he was around Stella.
Downstairs, Blake said, “Mr. Gray, let me push you over to that shady spot.”
The sun was blazing down here.
Sebastian didn’t say anything and just let Blake do his thing.

Blake hurried to push him into the shade, barely able to hide his excitement at finally getting some alone time with Sebastian. He was just about to start a conversation when he saw something shocking.
Blake’s eyes snapped open, startled.
Almost on instinct, he whipped Sebastian’s wheelchair around, making sure they were facing away from the building.
Sebastian was speechless.
He glanced up, his pale, handsome face as frosty and unreadable as ever. Even stuck in a wheelchair, the guy still radiated that intimidating, heavy-hitter vibe.
Blake gulped, his nerves shot.
Blake forced a dopey, awkward grin onto his face. “S-So, uh, Mr. Gray…”
He stammered, tongue-tied.
Luckily, before he could finish, Sebastian’s phone rang. Blake was so relieved that he almost wanted to thank the caller for saving him.
While Sebastian was busy on the call, Blake spun around, jaw dropping so wide that he could’ve swallowed a frog. He thought, ‘Either the sun’s frying my brain, or I’m seeing things… he thought, totally stunned.
‘Did Stella just scale down the building barehanded?’
Blake froze again.
He was stunned.
He stared at the building’s wall and there wasn’t a single sign of Stella.
He thought, ‘Where the heck did Stella vanish to?
‘Where’s my drop-dead gorgeous, badass Stella?’
Blake rubbed his eyes, wondering if he was just hallucinating.
He took another look.
Still nothing.
“What are you looking at?” came a casual, lazy voice from right behind him.
Blake whipped around, totally shocked. “S-Stella!”
He jumped out of his skin.
He whipped his head around, and sure enough, there was Stella, looking lazy and relaxed. Blake was totally floored. “How did you even get down here?” he blurted out, still in shock.

Stella was speechless.

After a while, Stella calmly arched an eyebrow, tilting her chin toward the building behind her. “Didn’t you just see me?” she said, her tone casual and teasing.
Blake froze again.
‘So I really wasn’t seeing things?’ Blake thought, still in disbelief.
“Stella,” Big Ben whined, shuffling over and nuzzling its big head against her shoulder. “My waist hurts so much!”
It was totally acting all cute and clingy.
Blake was speechless.
He gave Big Ben’s bouncy belly a look, not sure what to say.
Stella reminded Big Ben, “You don’t have a waist.”
Big Ben whined, “I do!”
It started wriggling, trying to prove it actually had a waist.
Stella shot back, “Nope, you really don’t.”
Big Ben whined, grabbing at its sides. “Here! See? It’s right here!”
Blake totally lost it, cracking up. “Dude, that’s just your belly! From your neck down, it’s all belly!”
Stella and Big Ben both fell silent.
Stella silently took a step back.
Big Ben puffed out its cheeks, hauled up its belly, and declared, “Take this!” Then, with a dramatic side kick and a loud shout, it sent Blake flying.
Blake’s mind went blank.
He flew through the air in a perfect arc, just like a cartoon character.
“Mr. Pierce!” Blake’s crew bolted over, arms outstretched, ready to catch him.
After the kick, Big Ben pumped its little fist in the air. “Yes!”
Stella fell silent.
With a casual glance, Stella suddenly reached out, expression unchanged, and coolly yanked Big Ben’s smart chip out, twirling it idly in her hand.
Conrad was lurking in the shadows, eyeing Stella with a creepy look. Even from a distance, he could totally

make out that she was holding a smart chip.
Right next to him, Celia just kept staring at Sebastian.
