“Sebastian…” Stella sent a message. When she didn’t get a reply for a while, she turned her head, but Sebastian was nowhere to be seen.

‘Where is he?’ Stella wondered.

Sebastian glanced down at the little guy.

People nearby were casting curious glances, and just as the kid’s parent mustered up the courage to intervene, Sebastian leaned down and, with unexpected seriousness, told the kid, “This one tastes better.”

He picked up another candy of the same brand from the shelf and handed it to the kid.

Expressionless, he kept staring-

The kid was stunned, and so was his parent.

Passersby all looked this way.

‘Is this guy for real? He’s got a face so good–looking it could crash the internet, and he’s just standing here recommending candy?‘ everyone thought.

Stella strolled over, smiling lightly. “Looks like you scared him.”

Sebastian was all cold and distant, but the moment he spotted Stella, his whole vibe changed: his eyes lit up, and it was like the ice just melted away.

Stella took Sebastian by the hand and led him away from the crowd, but just before they left, Sebastian frowned and called out to the kid, “Hey, the one right next to it is even tastier!”

Stella stopped, narrowing her eyes. “Sebastian?”

Sebastian sighed, reached out, and took her hand. Then he started pointing at the candy displays. “That one, that one, and over here…” He indicated several more. “All of them.”

Stella sighed helplessly.

Stella was utterly confused.

‘All of them?!‘ Stella’s mind short–circuited.

“I remembered every color of those wrappers. They were from this old Monterra candy company, and the wrappers were really unique.

“I kept them for so long, so when I saw they were gone, it made me so mad.” Sebastian said, his eyes downcast, thick lashes casting shadows over his face.

“What happened next?” Stella asked softly.

“So I went and asked her,” Sebastian replied, his hands cold, his stare just as frosty. “She just shrugged and said the guest’s daughter liked them, so she gave them away.”

Then he paused and continued, “She was like, ‘You never eat them anyway. And I shot back, ‘I do eat them.”

‘I liked them,‘ Sebastian thought, ‘but what I really liked was that they were from you.

‘It was because you gave them to me, and they meant something special.

‘That’s why I couldn’t bear to eat them.

Sebastian instinctively squeezed Stella’s hand. “She said, ‘What kind of boy likes eating candy? That’s disgusting.” Sebastian recalled his mother saying.

She didn’t even remember that those candies were the ones she gave me in the first place.

“I don’t care, I just love it!” Sebastian retorted coldly, locking eyes with Stella. He repeated, “I love it. When I’m thirty, when I’m fifty, and even after I’m dead, I want my coffin packed full of candy!”

Stella sighed helplessly.

She couldn’t help but picture it for a second, then went quiet.

Her silence stretched long enough for Sebastian to start fidgeting nervously.

He tugged at her hand. “Do you think I’m…”

Cool as ever, Stella reached out and grabbed the candy jar Sebastian had been pointing at, setting it carefully in the cart. “Before you fill it all the way up, aren’t you gonna save a spot for me?”

Sebastian, caught off guard, looked momentarily awkward.

Then, slowly, a spark lit in his deeply shadowed eyes.

His fingers threaded through hers.

Their fingers intertwined, hands locked together.

“For mine, make sure they pack it with strawberry flavor,” Stella structed.

As soon as she finished, Sebastian leaned down and brushed a soft kiss against the corner of her lips. I out a smile, his heart melting into a puddle.
