Stella’s cold, emotionless face was burned into everyone’s eyes.

Her raw, dark aura was so overwhelming that it felt like the air itself was suffocating.

Gavin said, “You-”

But before he could finish, a team member behind him shouted in a voice full of panic, “Gavin!”

The red dots for all the planes in the sky were disappearing one after another at breakneck speed, while MAYDAY alert blared over and over in everyone’s ears.

“What’s happening?” Caleb asked, his scalp prickling as he watched in horror.

Stella didn’t even spare anyone a glance as she marched up to the console. “Get out of my way!”

Gavin’s team practically tripped over themselves scrambling out of her way.

Stella’s face was icy, her fingers flying across the keyboard at lightning speed.

Everyone in the Control Tower instinctively held their breath.

All eyes were glued to Stella’s hands.

Suddenly, Sebastian said, “It’s a hacker’s code.”

His voice was icy, and just that statement sent a chill down everyone’s spine.

“What?” Colten asked in a deep, serious tone.

Allan shot Gavin a cold, mocking smile. “The hacker on the other side knew some idiot would try to swap out the Control Tower’s radio frequency with a new one.

“So they hid a code inside the invasion command right from the start, like a nesting doll.”

Everyone’s heart skipped a beat at that.

Sebastian raised his hand and pointed at the lone dot on the screen that was Flight MGS57. “From the very beginning, they’ve been using it as bait.”

What they were really after was the whole aviation safety net.

With a thud, Gavin’s legs gave out as he realized he’d just caused a disaster. He collapsed to the floor.

‘It’s over!’ Gavin thought. His whole body was shaking uncontrollably.

But to Gavin, the rapid clacking of Stella’s keyboard was like a heaven-sent rescue. “Y-You’re that hacker from the hospital, the one who went toe-to-toe with the other side. You have to-”

Gavin didn’t notice that the instant he said hacker, Sebastian’s icy aura flared out of control, shadows practically leaking from him. “You’ve got the wrong person,” Sebastian said.

His long fingers twitched.

Allan caught that movement out of the corner of his eye.

Sebastian’s cold, lifeless fingers wrapped around his throat, ready to snap it at any moment. Gavin could hear the chilling sound of his own bones creaking under the pressure.

Colten and Murray called out together, “Sebastian!”

Sebastian didn’t even blink.

“Sebastian, don’t dirty your hands,” Stella said coolly, not even glancing back as her fingers flew across the keyboard.

Those words were all it took to pull Gavin back from the edge.

Sebastian slowly released his grip.

Gavin slumped to the floor, hacking and retching uncontrollably

Stella spoke up again, this time to the Control Tower supervisor. Based on your memory, how much time does the fastest scheduled arrival have left?”

Her voice was cold. Yet, for some reason, it gave people an unusual sense of trust.

The supervisor answered immediately, “Five minutes.”

The rapid typing suddenly stopped.

Everyone froze in fear when Stella stopped.

‘What happened?’ everyone thought.

“It’s too late,” Stella said, leaning back in her chair. Her face was flawless and cold as ice, not a hint of emotion showing.

That chilling indifference was somehow even scarier than the dark, dangerous vibe she’d had just moments before.

Caleb felt his heart stop. “What do you mean?”

“This is the most complicated command code out there. Even for me, cracking it would take at least ten minutes,” Stella said offhandedly, her gaze subtly drifting to the computer’s webcam.

Colten asked, “What if they hadn’t rebooted and swapped out the frequency just now?”

Stella glanced up, eyebrow arched with lazy indifference. “Does really matter now?”

Colten’s expression was grave. “I want to know the answer.”

Stella gave a light chuckle. “Then everything would’ve been over by now.”

Everyone fell into silence.

Regret and frustration washed over the Cybersecurity Division am; they couldn’t even lift their heads.

“Miss,” Hudson finally broke his long silence. “Tell me, do we need to evacuate the residents right now?”

This was the final, most desperate option.

Stella didn’t answer right away. She seemed to be waiting for something, idly spinning a black pencil between her fingers. As the seconds ticked by, her fingers moved faster and faster.

Suddenly, Stella said lazily, “Do you think that’s necessary?” Cale and the others froze, about to answer, but her cold voice interrupted again. “Mr. Hacker?”

Everyone was shocked.

Stella’s hand stopped spinning the pencil. She turned her head and stared straight into the webcam.

The next second, a weird, voice-changed laugh burst from the speakers, and the big screen that had been showing the Control Tower’s live feed now displayed a masked hacker in a black robe, front and center for everyone to see.

“So you’re the one who crushed Lion, aren’t you?” the hacker taunted.

The hacker lounged in his chair, oozing arrogance. The background was pitch black, clearly some underground lair, with black walls and dim yellow lamps.

He was bathed in shadows. “Let me introduce myself. I’m number three on the Hacker Leaderboard. You can call me-

“Hyena,” Stella replied.

Stella let out a soft laugh, tossing out his codename like it was nothing.

The hacker cursed inwardly, ‘Damn it!’

“Name your terms. What do you want?” Stella arched an eyebrow totally calm, even with less than five minutes left on the clock.
