Hearing someone call out, Eggie turned to look at Jareth. Its cheeks, puffed up from all the food Sebastian. had been feeding it, were round and chubby.

Eggie chirped.

Jareth thought, ‘It really is the peregrine falcon.’

Seeing the adorably well-behaved and chubby little peregrine falcon in front of them, Dashiell, Halcyon, and Jareth were completely stunned. Halcyon reached out his wrinkled hand, about to poke the little guy.

Eggie’s big, round eyes narrowed mischievously, and the moment Halcyon’s hand got close, it was about to peck at it hard.

Just when it looked like Halcyon was about to get his hand bitten, Stella, face totally blank, reached out and grabbed Eggie by the scruff, like she was plucking fate itself.

With a casual flick, she hoisted Eggie up.

The little peregrine falcon dangled helplessly from her fingers.

It looked like it was about to cry, all pitiful and wronged.

It didn’t forget to shield its chubby belly with its wings.

The little peregrine falcon chirped, sounding utterly pitiful.

Stella brought Eggie up to her face, raising an eyebrow. The beads on her bracelet clinked together, and Blackie was lazily coiled around her wrist, its tiny head resting on the back of her hand.

When Blackie spotted Eggie, its eyes sparkled with mockery.

Stella shot Blackie a look.

Blackie froze.

Stella lazily glanced away, then tapped the little peregrine falcon on the head with her finger. She said, “Behave yourself.”

Eggie nuzzled up to her finger with its fluffy head.

Dashiell sighed, “It really is the peregrine falcon.”

Among the five High Elders, Geezer could steal anything, no matter how impossible.

With eyes sharp enough to see through any lie and hands so deft they could craft legends across ages.

Professor Cipher was the founder of Rhaesia University.

Under his alias, Rhaesia Quill, he was unmatched academically and had mentored countless big shots.

ViperShade, a master alchemist and poisoner, was the quirkiest among the five.

He was also the founder of the Dorestan Medical Alliance.

Razorstrike was a master at crafting all kinds of weapons and hidden blades.

His combat skills were off the charts.

And the last one, Serpentina, was obsessed with raising peregrine falcons and was a beast tamer and hypnotist extraordinaire.

Ever since her very first peregrine falcon, every single one of her birds could summon a legion with just a single cry.

Stella, raised by these five legendary elders, was basically packed with all their best skills and quirks.

Just thinking about it, Dashiell, Halcyon, and Jareth were wiping away tears, totally moved. They thought, ‘This is just too heartwarming. Seriously, it’s almost too much.

Stella was speechless.

Emily scooted over and asked, “Stella, do you know them?”

She thought, ‘Are these three oddball geezers tagging along to Tongalia, too?’

Emily shot them a suspicious look.

“Yeah,” Stella replied, glancing at her. As if remembering something, she took out a snow-white pill and handed it to Emily. She said, “Here, eat this.”

Emily didn’t hesitate. She pinched off the wax seal and popped the pill into her mouth.

It melted on her tongue instantly.

“Tastes great! Got any more?” Emily asked, her eyes lighting up.

The three elders were left speechless, staring in stunned silence.

They thought, ‘She just downed 15 million in one go.

‘And she’s got the nerve to ask if there’s more?’

Stella tilted her head and, without a second thought, fished out another handful from her pocket, passing them to Emily. She said, “Snack on these during the trip.” She shot a glance at Callum nearby and added, “Hand him a couple, too.”

The three elders stared, stunned.

“Sebastian,” Stella called out, but when she turned around, she just stared, lost for words.

Somehow, Sebastian had already scooped Eggie back up. With a blank face, he was absentmindedly rubbing Eggie’s head, while Eggie clung to his hand, looking all pitiful and aggrieved. The two of them looked strangely harmonious together.

Caught off guard by his name, Sebastian paused for a moment, then stuffed Eggie right back into his pocket. He asked, “What?”

Eggie chirped.

It popped its head out again.

But Sebastian pressed him right back in.

Stella said, “They’re coming with us. Fabian, you stay here.” Seeing Fabian frown, about to object, she added, “Anyone fresh out of the military still has that military aura. If you’re not careful, you’ll end up attracting trouble.”

“Stella, are you sure about this?” Emily asked, cradling Silverthatch in her arms, shooting a skeptical look at the three frail old men.

Silverthatch, back in its pot, looked all pitiful as it reached its leaves into Emily’s coffee.

In an instant, the plant perked up.

It thought, ‘Delicious! Awesome! Incredible!’

Sebastian shot a frosty look at the three elders, looking all mystical and aloof. He just gave a flat “Mm.”

The three elders on the other side instantly broke out in a cold sweat under that icy stare.

Fabian tried to volunteer. He said, “But Ms. Carter, I can help you carry the plant. Or if that’s not enough, I can even bird-sit for Mr. Gray.”

His words died instantly under Sebastian’s cold glare.

Fabian gulped.

Everyone fell into silence.

They thought, ‘We’re not misunderstanding!

John stepped out from the side and, with a blank face, took the plain plant from Emily’s hands.

John glanced at Fabian.

“You won’t be sitting around either,” Stella said, scrolling through her phone and sending a list to Fabian’s device.

She said, “This is the current preliminary list for Blaze, 371 people in total. By the time I get back, I want you

Fabian, who had been looking all down in the dumps, instantly perked up. He replied, “Yes! I promise I’ll get it done!”

His voice was so loud that it nearly shook the ceiling.

Stella thought, ‘No need to get so dramatic about it.’
