At the same time, Carmelo’s eyes were filled with bone-deep terror.

Looking into Stella’s cold, unfeeling eyes, Carmelo felt an invisible net tightening around him, and that net had a name: payback.

“Mr. Wilkerson,” Stella called Quinto, her voice icy and indifferent.

Quinto’s chest heaved with rage, his facial muscles twitching uncontrollably in a ferocious grimace.

Meanwhile, everyone from the Herbal Medicine Guild glared at her, looking at her like they wanted to eat her alive.

Stella walked over to Quinto, nonchalant and unfazed.

“Stop right there,” Reuben snapped, lunging at her with a vicious, calculated move, clearly aiming straight for her shoulder blade from behind.

Landen cried out, “Dr. Miracle, watch out.”

[Stella, be careful!]

[These damn Tongalians, always playing dirty.]

[My heart’s been jumping all day. Someone save me.]

Just when everyone thought Stella was about to get hurt for sure.

The next second, Stella didn’t even blink. She reached out and grabbed Reuben by the throat, her perfectly manicured nails digging deep into his skin. No one even saw when she moved.

Reuben choked out, his voice twisted and strange, mixed with a nasty crack-crack of shifting bones.

Stella slowly turned her head to look at him.

She gave him a mischievous little smile.

To everyone else, it looked like wisps of dark energy were swirling around her, making her seem like a little demoness toying with mortals.

She had them all in the palm of her hand.

Stella said, “Don’t try to sneak up on me. I might get mad.”

Her words were slow and unhurried, but they carried a deadly, suffocating pressure.

Reuben’s eyes widened in terror. “M-Master, h-help me.”

Quinto snapped, “That’s enough. Let go of my disciple.”

“Sure,” Stella drawled, her voice slow and unhurried. “But…”

She smiled.

“But. What is it?” Quinto spat out each word through gritted teeth, his voice trembling with rage. His eyes were stormy with hatred.

If that hatred could take shape, he’d have ripped Stella apart right then and there.

Stella’s smile vanished in an instant, her gaze turning icy and chilling.

She said, “The Herbal Medicine Guild spent years carefully laying out their plans, only to have it all fall apart because of Carmelo’s deliberate cover-up. If I were you, I’d want to kill him myself.”

Carmelo, hearing his name, stumbled back in panic, his whole body shaking like a leaf. “N-No…”

Stella said, “You want me to kill Carmelo for you?”

Quinto narrowed his eyes dangerously. The moment she said that, everyone was left speechless, shocked to their core.

[No way.]

[Is the livestream gonna get shut down?]

[Are they really going this far?]

“Mr. Wilkerson,” Stella said, her expression shifting just a bit as she patiently reminded him, “We live in a law- abiding society now. That whole kill-or-be-killed routine? So last century.”

Quinto just stared, lost for words.

Everyone fell into silence.

[Quinto’s face is turning green. I’m dying here, Law-abiding society, my ass.]

[Am I the only one dying to see how Stella’s gonna handle Carmelo?]

[Honestly, I kinda wish Carmelo would just drop dead, but I guess that’s not happening.]

[Me too.]

The atmosphere in the hall was downright strange.

“Then what do you want to do about it?” Quinto took a deep breath, finally finding his voice.

Everyone’s eyes were fixed on Stella.

They were all dying to know what she’d say next.

“Carmelo, do you remember the oath you swore yesterday?” Stella shot him a meaningful look, glancing at

She said, “You were representing Tongalia’s Herbal Medicine. If you go back on your word, may the heavens strike you down.”

Everyone stood there, left speechless.

‘That’s it?’ everyone thought.

Quinto said impatiently, “So what?”

Stella lazily lifted her gaze and said, her voice cool and casual, “Get your people to toss Carmelo out onto the square. If he makes it out alive, we’ll let everything that happened with Clusia slide.”

“Are you serious?” Carmelo burst out laughing, looking like he’d just hit the jackpot.

Carmelo sneered to himself, ‘No matter how tough she tries to act, she’s still just a kid. Struck by lightning? Really?

‘Every building these days has lightning rods. Hasn’t she ever heard of them? What did she even learn in school?’

“Ms. Carter.” Quincy looked worried, while the rest of the Clusia delegation instinctively glanced at Paul, still shell-shocked that his hand was totally fine, their faces blank with disbelief.

[Stella, what are you thinking?! I’m heartbroken over here.]

[Lightning rods! How many times do I have to say it?]

[Come on, did she even graduate from elementary school?]

Stella said, “I’m sure. But do you dare?” She ignored the mocking stares around her, her eyes cold as ice.

Off to the side, Sebastian absentmindedly stroked the little peregrine falcon’s head, his face as calm and unreadable as ever.

The little peregrine falcon snuggled closer to him.

“Hell yeah, I dare. I don’t need anyone’s help. I’ll walk out there myself. Let’s see if lightning really comes for me,” Carmelo shouted, sounding cocky as hell.

‘God? Seriously?’ Carmelo scoffed to himself. ‘God? What a joke!

Carmelo looked half-crazy, clutching at his last hope. He didn’t wait for anyone to stop him.

He bolted for the doors, laughing like a madman, determined to show everyone how he could swagger out of there, head held high.

Everyone stood there, left speechless. Everyone was feeling all kinds of things.

At that moment, Stella calmly let go of Reuben’s throat, letting him drop to the floor like a limp ragdoll.

“Have your crew follow him,” Stella said to Orlando, her smile teasing and unreadable. “Just make sure they don’t get too close.”

Orlando’s internal alarm went off. He instantly knew what to do.

Without hesitation, he sent his team after Carmelo.

“Paul,” Stella said offhandedly as she wandered over to the floor-to-ceiling window, her gaze cutting right through the spotless glass to the world outside.

Dark clouds pressed down over the city.

“You’re about to see a real show,” she said with a faint smile.
