Half an hour passed, and it was inside the black Mercedes-Benz. In the back seat, Sebastian’s brows were furrowed. The moment Stella opened the car door, he quickly hid his hand behind his back.
Stella couldn’t ignore it. ‘Could you be any more obvious?’ she thought.
“Show me,” she said, raising an eyebrow.
Sebastian, caught off guard, looked momentarily awkward.
His eyes darted left and right, and he was silent for a second. He shook his head. Stella smiled.
Sebastian pulled his hand out from behind his back, and there was the little peregrine falcon, its round belly sticking out, lying in his palm. It was so chubby that it couldn’t even roll over.
The little peregrine falcon lifted its eyelids, feeling guilty, and tried to cover its belly with its tiny wings. It tried again. It couldn’t lift them.
The little peregrine falcon just lay there, looking utterly defeated. The next second, the little peregrine falcon was dangling in midair.
It wobbled and stared at Stella’s poker face.
Blackie poked his head out from Stella’s hair.
‘Save me!’ the little peregrine falcon thought desperately.
Its little claws kept reaching for Sebastian.
At the same time, it sucked in its belly, hoping to look a bit slimmer.
Sebastian wanted to say something, but stopped himself.
Stella poked the little peregrine falcon’s round belly. “Fat.”
The little peregrine falcon shook its head.
Sebastian looked on, sympathy in his eyes, his long fingers clenching and unclenching.
Stella lifted one of its wings, exposing all the hidden fluff. The little peregrine falcon, caught off guard, instantly puffed back up to its true chubby form.
The little peregrine falcon was utterly defeated.
Half a minute later, John rolled his eyes.
He glanced at the back seat through the rearview mirror, his expression complicated. The godlike Sebastian

was sitting there, completely expressionless.

He thought, ‘Was he seriously making a fat little peregrine falcon do sit-ups?’
“Ten,” Stella said, not even looking up from her phone.

The little peregrine falcon looked up at Sebastian with teary, egg-sized eyes, giving him the saddest puppy look ever.
Sebastian tried to bargain for the little peregrine falcon, his face serious. “Five.”
Stella paused, then looked up. “Fifteen.”
Sebastian: “Eleven.” His voice got quieter.
Stella smiled.
Sebastian: “Twenty!”
He glanced down. Expressionless, he stared at his peregrine falcon, clenched his fist, and encouraged, “Come on, you got this!”
‘You! Are! The! Devil!’ the little peregrine falcon thought.
John, in the front seat, was speechless.
“Feeling any happier now?” Sebastian asked after they’d been driving for a bit, noticing her mood had been off since she got in.
Stella didn’t say a word.
There was a brief pause. Stella, still half-asleep, mumbled, “Yeah.”
She looked at Sebastian and gave him a lazy smile. “Just thought of an old friend.”
Stella lifted her hand. The diamond necklace swayed gently between her fingers.
Suddenly, it all clicked for her.
No matter how many times Stella’s life restarted, her fate was always sealed the day she was kidnapped.
“I promised her I’d get the necklace back, but now…” She lowered her gaze, her eyes turning lazy and distant.
Half an hour passed, and the black Mercedes-Benz glided into a place that radiated danger. The walls were etched with lifelike Lion patterns, shrouding the area in an air of mystery and fear.
This was the most secretive and feared spot in all of Jaflina, the Lion Hall.
It was also the headquarters of the Lion Squad.
At the entrance, a guard raised his hand, signaling for the car to stop.

But as soon as the back window slid down and Sebastian’s cold, striking face appeared, the guard’s eyes narrowed in recognition and fear.
He instantly snapped to attention, saluted, and let them pass without hesitation.
The car glided into Lion Hall, and the back window slid back up.
Meanwhile, in the interrogation room, Candy had been locked up for days, and now she was finally brought
out.
She’d never suffered like this before. Sniffling and sobbing, she stared around the empty room, which had nothing but a table, a chair, and an LED screen on the wall.
She was genuinely terrified.
“Is anyone there?” Candy cried out, still crying and shouting.
She had no idea how long she’d been at it when the door banged open, and a girl in a white shirt strode in, sitting down right across from Candy.
‘Who is she?’ Candy wondered, confused.
There was a brief pause.
“You?” Candy’s brain short-circuited when she recognized the culprit who landed her here.
She slammed her hands on the table and jumped to her feet, but then, realizing her situation, she shrank back, shoulders hunched.
Stella lounged back in her chair, looking every bit the boss, her tone lazy and unbothered. “Do you know who sent you that video?”
Candy blinked, a little dazed. “I… I don’t know.”
Stella shot her a look, then raised her hand. The LED screen on the wall flickered to life, revealing the burner account that Dexter had sent the video to Candy’s Sweet Candy account.
And this was the “gift” Killer Whale had left for her.
“That’s it! That’s the account!” Candy shouted, slamming her hand on the table in excitement.
She’d recognize it even if it were reduced to ashes.
That account not only sent her the video, but also egged her on to send it to the fan club and blow the whole thing up. She’d acted on impulse.
Candy said, “This alt account…”
Stella smirked, her tone flat. “Whoever managed to target you and predict your every move so perfectly must know you really well and know all about you and Dexter.”
