Saul continued, “If the criminals kill you, their sentences will be reduced. Death row inmates will be changed to life sentences. Serious offenders will get shorter terms.
“You wouldn’t want your mistake to let them walk free, ight?
“Fortunately, you won’t truly die. You’re weak, protected talents, favored by the Space Alliance. You’ve been granted a rule: after taking a fatal blow, you can exit the public dungeon safely.
“Ranking Battle Rules: Kill a criminal to gain their points. Level 20 criminal: 1 point. Level 30 criminal: 10 points. Level 40 criminal: 100 points.
“Eliminating another student will grant you their point-
“Note: Students may not work together, but criminals always will. Criminals gain no points from killing each other.”
When Joanna read the dungeon notice, her eyes widened slightly. Then her expression returned to calm.
The academy was not raising gentle sheep. It was shaping future alpha wolves.
Humans were born fearing death. Not just their own death, but the death of others like them.
Many people vomited the first time they killed someone. Their bodies rejected it.
Seeing a human body rot made people feel sick. The smell felt unbearable, like the worst odor in the world. That was instinct-humanity’s highest danger alarm.
There were 20,000 students here. In the past month, they had fought often in the arena. But everyone knew arena battles never killed anyone.
Even if the enemies here were death row inmates, some people still couldn’t accept it.
Fortunately, Joanna was not one of them.
She carried the maturity of two lifetimes. Since childhood, she had known this was a cruel world.
She had tricked others before.”
She had killed with her own hands.
She wasn’t afraid.
“But the city terrain is complicated,” she said calmly. “And the criminals are stronger than expected.”
She wasn’t worried about Level 20 criminals.
She could handle Level 30 as well.
But Level 40 criminals were different. She had to be careful.
Level 40 didn’t just mean numbers. It meant they had become professionals ten, twenty, even thirty years earlier than her. Years of combat experience, Personalighting styles. Hidden trump cards.
That kind of strength deserved respect.

Training in a villa area was four times more effective than in an apartment. But once her attributes passed 10,000, Dimensional Origin Energy consumption rose harply. Attribute growth slowed down.
Luckily, she still had her contract beasts.
After each attribute passed 10,000, Joanna focused on calming Lucien and the others. She never neglected Nighthowl. That was how her attributes reached this level.
Compared to right after her SAT trial, her strength had ncreased fivefold.
The affinity aura she built with Nighthowl and the others had reached 100 million. That kind of power could only grow over time.
“I shouldn’t lose,” Joanna murmured. “But let’s stay hidden first and gather information.”.
She concealed herself within the city.
Nighthowl activated Celestial Gaze, watching over the entire area.
What puzzled him was that he saw no enemies at all.
Only other students had been teleported in.
“Have they not spawned yet?” Nighthowl asked quietly. With no other choice, he waited.
Soon, the ten-minute preparation period ended.
The ranking battle officially began.
It felt like the calm before a storm. Everyone sensed danger in the air. People became far more cautious.
“There’s still no one,” Nighthowl said in a low voice.
Joanna wasn’t surprised.
“These death row criminals will truly die here,” she replied. “No amount of caution is too much.”
Just then, something moved inside the building they were in,

Something was rushing toward them at high speed.

“A death row criminal?” a voice shouted. “Let’s see how strong you really are. Trash like you is nothing!”
“Hey! Those four! You’re not running? Fine, You’ll all become my points!”
Boom!
The door was blown open.
A male student wearing blue armor charged into the apartment, locking onto Joanna’s group.
He didn’t have any vision-type skills. But with powerful attributes came enhanced perception. He could sense nearby people. And he had sensed four of them here.
All of them had just been teleported in. Gathering four people in ten minutes was rare. Students could kill each other for points, so they rarely formed teams.
That left only one possibility.
Criminals.
Or Summoners.
That student froze, greatly shaken. Then he forced an awkward smile.
“Ah-i-it’s Joanna,” he stammered. “It’s a misunderstanding! I thought criminals were here. Don’t kill me, okay? I don’t have any points. You only get points for killing criminals. Eliminating me won’t help you at all.”
As he spoke, his face slowly fell.
