Chapter 33 Heart, Soul, and Abs

From now on, she would let her contracted companion touch her belly often.

Joanna was completely satisfied.

Actually, Lucas and the others were all players too. Lucas had broad shoulders and the biggest muscles, the standard build for a tank class, but Joanna wasn’t really into that type.

Cedric and Neil didn’t invest in vitality stats and only had the advantage of height, so their abs weren’t very defined.

As for Bruce, he had a weak stomach and was the particularly skinny type. Girls often complimented his wrist bones and collarbones.

But when she was with them, Joanna never had much interest.

Mainly because none of them had pure intentions toward her.

If Joanna had shown even a hint of interest in that area, she would have been eaten alive long ago.

Dating and romance were such a waste of time. At 18 years old, all Joanna wanted was to get into a good college.

But Nighthowl was different.

This was her contracted beast.

He belonged to her completely, heart and soul.

No wonder most summoners spent their entire lives with their contracted beasts as partners.

Who could possibly resist?

Thinking this, she reached out again and rubbed his ears.

“Consume affinity points.”

Nighthowl had killed 10,000 monsters, earning her another 10 affinity points.

Of course she would use them to comfort Nighthowl.

Nighthowl felt the aura Joanna released and couldn’t help but press close to her, wrapping his arms around her. He lowered his head, burying his face against Joanna’s neck, his cheek nuzzling against her skin.

The closeness of skin between humans felt absolutely heavenly.

“Haha, okay, okay, that tickles! Come on, let’s go eat. After we eat, we’ll figure out our next dungeon!”

The trial dungeon records didn’t count toward SAT entrance exam scores.

So their team still needed to complete two more dungeons to qualify for registration.

Now, there were only 30 days left until the SAT.

She needed to maximize her strength as much as possible.

With Joanna’s current abilities and Nighthowl’s strength, could they challenge a harder dungeon?

Something like … a Level 15 dungeon.

Meanwhile, at 8 p.m.

The monthly exam was still ongoing.

“Roseflare came the most prepared, and they knew the strategy. But their damage output is too slow. Every fight takes over 20 minutes. At this rate, it’ll take them 12 hours to clear the dungeon.”

Their final score would probably be around 140 points, which was already considered high.

This was what it felt like to study the right material for the test.

As for the other team, they were truly disappointing.

“They’ve started clearing monsters now, but six hours of trudging through snow gave them a debuff. Minor frostbite-their movements in combat are sluggish.”

“Even so, these five have S-rank combat power. They should be able to clear all the monsters in about ten

hours.”

“In that case, their score will only be 100 points. That’ll rank them around 30th in the grade. Good enough for Violetlight University at best. And to think they were supposed to be Prismbridge material.”

It wasn’t that Jacob had never paid attention to the exams before. It was just that previous exams had lower- level dungeons, and the top team had never made mistakes. All he ever felt was satisfaction through and through.

He never could have imagined this.

In just one day, things had gone this wrong.

“Do we even need to keep watching? These kids rely on their natural talent and never use their brains. They’re nothing but cannon fodder fit for public dungeons. Joanna was the real core of the team.”
