Chapter 49 The Perfect Size for Cuddling
Joanna freshened up and got ready for bed.

But when she came out, she found Nighthowl standing guard at the door, his cheeks slightly flushed.
Joanna was startled.
Come to think of it, Nighthowl had guarded the door before too.
Remembering some pet behaviors from her past life, her heart softened.
“Were you worried I’d drown?”
Animals believed that using the bathroom and drinking water were dangerous moments. That was why some dogs and cats would scratch at the door whenever their owner went to the restroom, refusing to let them go alone.
Taking a bath in peace? Forget about it. They absolutely had to watch.
Nighthowl was probably the same way.
Still, Nighthowl had been fluffy before, his silver fur gleaming. He didn’t need baths. But now he was in human form. After fighting for so long, he definitely needed to wash up.
“You need a bath too. Come here, I’ll show you how to use everything. Don’t be scared!”
Joanna explained how the shower worked and what all the different products were for.
“Do you
need me to help?”
Joanna asked.
Nighthowl quickly shook his head.
“I can do it myself.”
“Alright!” She wanted to ask something else. Since Nighthowl could transform into a human, he could naturally turn back into a beast too. Could he still shrink down to puppy size? That way she could give him baths and cuddle him while sleeping.
“Go ahead and shower then. I’m going to rest. And this time, don’t sneak off to run dungeons while I’m asleep. It’s dangerous.”
Joanna gave him a reminder before climbing into her soft, comfortable bed.

The sound of running water came from the bathroom, keeping her awake for a while.
Something came to mind.
She secretly opened her system interface and pulled up the files Grace had sent her.
“My Domineering Divine Pet Fell for Me.”
Huh?
Why are there scenes about cooking in this?
Joanna pulled the covers up tight and read in secret.
At some point, the water stopped.
Nighthowl emerged wrapped in a towel. He hesitated for a moment, then walked to the spot where he had watched Joanna sleep the night before. Finally, he sat down on the carpet.
Joanna was startled and guiltily closed the interface.
“Why are you sitting on the floor?” Joanna asked.
Nighthowl hesitated.
Then, in one smooth motion, he hopped onto the bed, making Joanna jump.
Th-that’s not what I mean…
She was just thinking that the villa had so many rooms. Nighthowl could go sleep in one of the others.
She never intended for them to sleep together.
Especially since Joanna had just been secretly reading that cooking novel.
But this was too sudden. She couldn’t accept it. Her boundaries were still too high after all.
“Nighthowl… can you turn back into the form you had when I first summoned you?”
Joanna asked quietly.
So he quietly slipped off the bed, left the bedroom, transformed back into human form, and went down to the villa’s kitchen.
He had watched Joanna cook before.
But some ingredients had already been used up, like the chicken. There were still plenty of other things though, like flour, potatoes, sweet potatoes, peppers, and so on.

After thinking about it, Nighthowl returned to the living room and spoke to a screen. “I want to learn how to cook.”
He had seen Joanna use this thing. You just had to speak to it.
Soon, the screen lit up.
The highly intelligent virtual TV began searching for what Nighthowl needed.
“Smart Recommendation: Husband Collection-10 Dishes Your Wife Will Love.”
Nighthowl displayed the ingredients he currently had and pointed toward the kitchen.
“This is all I have.”
“Processing… Filtering recipes you can make-5 Desserts You Can Make at Home.”
With that, Nighthowl began watching intently.
