Liz finally realized why Martin had been so agreeable about handing over the expensive villa. This was the real trap. By generously giving away a luxurious property for the sake of his precious grandson, he made it nearly impossible for them to refuse his request to let family stay over and care for the boy. Denying him now would seem totally unreasonable and cruel.
Stella's eyes lit up as she looked hopefully at Remington. "I can just stay in any guest room. If that's not convenient, sleeping on the living room sofa is fine too."
Remington scoffed, ready to reject the idea outright, but Liz tightened her grip on his arm.
"Babe," Liz said sweetly, "let Ms. West stay in the room opposite Ron's on the second floor. It's close to him, so if he cries during the night, she can get up to check on him right away."
Remington gave Liz a deeply meaningful look, then nodded. "Alright. You are the hostess here; you can arrange things however you like. I have no objections."
Stella barely had a moment to rejoice over Remington's agreement before her heart was flooded with jealousy at his doting tone. But what woman wouldn't desire a man who was this capable, yet so willing to spoil his own woman? The itch in Stella's heart grew stronger; she wanted Remington more than ever.
She turned to her father and said, "Dad, you should head back. It's getting late."
Martin gave her a profound look before finally taking his leave. Stella then followed Liz and Remington upstairs.
Watching the couple in front of her acting all lovey-dovey—Liz's arm wrapped around him, his hand resting on her waist—Stella rolled her eyes in silent disgust. Her mood worsened considerably when she saw framed photos of Liz hanging on the hallway walls. Any trace of joy she felt about staying the night rapidly evaporated.

The readers' comments on the novel: Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington)
Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
