That night, Lizetta had been saved by Nelson and Bernice, who personally rushed her to the hospital.
Because of that, Nelson carried a tremendous amount of guilt regarding the events of that evening. Whenever he thought of it, his eyes would turn red with fury and profound regret.
Initially believing Martin and his daughter were solely responsible, the old man was so consumed by rage he wanted to fly straight to Zion City to kill them himself. He felt he had failed to protect her and was devastated that she had suffered on her own.
If he were to discover that Eartha was involved—and that Eartha had been targeting her long before the incident—it would be a devastating blow to Nelson.
"Don't worry. The last time the old man called me, he had plenty of energy to scream at me. Both his physical and mental health are perfectly fine. There's no need to stress over him. Nelson is much tougher than you think. He'll definitely take care of himself and stay healthy, if only to figure out how to destroy me."
"Pfft."
Lizetta couldn't help but laugh out loud, instantly picturing the mental image of the old man chasing Remington around with a cane.
Seeing that she was no longer drowning in distress, Remington handed the phone back to Ray with a sharp order.
"Keep a close eye on both of them."
Ray nodded. "You got it, Boss."
"And what's the situation with Andrea?" Remington asked.
Ray smirked. "Completely under control."
Remington nodded, and Ray turned and left the room.
Lizetta looked up at Remington. "Martin and Eartha really are cut from the same cloth. Why do we always attract these awful people?"
Remington's eyes instantly gleamed with a bright, intense light. "What did you just say, Lizetta?"
"I didn't say anything weird. I was just complaining that we attract awful people."
Lizetta looked confused, but Remington reached out, playfully tapping her nose.
"Wrong. That is not the exact phrasing you used! Think about it carefully," the man demanded, clearly unsatisfied.
Lizetta turned her head away. "That's exactly what I said."

Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
