After all, who would have a death wish strong enough to willingly compete against Remington Dashiell?
Remington had actually helped Yolanda out during her previous fallout with Cassius, which had salvaged his reputation in her eyes just a fraction.
When Lizetta had almost drowned in the lake and remained unconscious in the hospital, Yolanda had stood guard by her side without ever leaving.
She had witnessed firsthand just how frantically terrified Remington was for Lizetta's life, which had drastically shifted her perspective of him.
Even so, Yolanda still couldn't resist nitpicking his every move, though the underlying hostility in her voice had clearly faded.
Lizetta giggled. "He's not as manipulative as you're making him out to be."
Yolanda scoffed. "You are the literal definition of 'love is blind.' Trust me, that man's scheming goes way deeper than I could ever give him credit for."
Lizetta couldn't argue with that.
Just as she was shaking her head in amusement, Yolanda continued.
"By the way, the internet sleuths are working overtime. They dug up the fact that you're his ex-wife. The whole massive scandal between him and Stella back in Zion City has been dragged out into the light again, too. Twitter is an absolute war zone right now. Half the people are rooting for you, and the other half are treating Stella like a martyr. You need to log on and take a look. I guarantee Conrad and his daughter had their filthy hands in stirring this up."
Given her connections in the entertainment industry, Yolanda was always the first to catch wind of online drama.
"Got it," Lizetta replied, her expression turning frigid.
"I haven't even gone after them for what they've done yet, and they're already out here trying to start fires again."
"It's all Remington's fault," Yolanda grumbled. "He attracts nothing but psychos and lunatics!"
"I somehow feel like you're insulting me," Lizetta mumbled defensively.
Yolanda burst out laughing. "You're an absolute angel in my book, Liz."

The readers' comments on the novel: Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington)
Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
