After a few steps, Zoey realized something felt off.
She wondered if Remington had snuck in without permission. If the old man found out and flew into a rage, she definitely couldn't handle the fallout.
Pausing in the hallway, she peeked back into the kitchen.
To her shock, she saw Remington stepping right up behind the young miss, wrapping his arms around her waist.
He leaned forward slightly, resting his handsome face on her right shoulder. Liz had clearly just snapped out of her daze.
As she turned her head, the man leaned in and captured her lips in a kiss.
The two lovers were entirely lost in each other, wrapped up in a tender, lingering embrace.
Zoey's old heart pounded, her cheeks flushing with second-hand embarrassment. She swallowed the words that had been on the tip of her tongue and hurried away.
For a man from Zion City who supposedly had a cold, untouchable reputation, he was certainly bold and passionate.
How was the old master supposed to guard against *that*?
In the kitchen, Liz hadn't expected Remington to suddenly walk in.
As she turned, she was instantly enveloped by his intoxicating warmth.
The lingering, passionate kiss effortlessly swept away the last traces of her melancholy.
It didn't last long; it felt as though Remington simply wanted to pull her out of her gloomy thoughts.
When he pulled back, a brilliant ray of sunlight caught his deep gaze.
His normally dark eyes shifted into a beautiful, tender shade of amber as he locked onto hers.
"I want to make cookies too."
Taking the whisk and the glass bowl from her hands, he kept her bracketed against him from behind and chuckled softly in her ear.
"Teach me, Professor Liz?"
Trapped in his embrace, Liz finally remembered where they were.
She gave a small struggle, glancing nervously around the kitchen. "Stop messing around. What if one of the maids sees us?"
"So what if they do?" Remington arched a brow.

Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
