He collapsed like a puppet with its strings cut before a single sound could escape his throat.
Ray stared down at the crumpled body with eyes full of icy contempt, delivering two brutal kicks to the man's ribs for good measure. He then turned to look at Remington, who was standing behind him, radiating an aura of absolute slaughter.
"Remington, should I wake him up for a quick interrogation before we move in?"
Ray had deliberately restrained his strike to merely knock the man unconscious.
Remington's murderous gaze swept over the eldest son, who was now securely gagged and hogtied on the grass. He let out a dark sneer.
"No need. Breach."
The man had been outside too long; the people inside were bound to get suspicious.
The tactical tech team had already hacked and disabled the villa's security alarms.
Thermal imaging had confirmed the exact number of hostiles, the interior layout, and everyone's precise coordinates.
Most importantly, they had verified exactly which room held Joy. An interrogation was a waste of time.
With Remington's command, over a dozen operatives moved like phantoms, vaulting over the walls and swarming the property from every angle.
Moving with lethal precision, Remington took the point, gripping his sidearm tightly.
According to the thermal scans, there were three targets left inside.
Two in the living room, and one in the basement guarding the child.
If they neutralized the two upstairs silently, the target downstairs would be completely isolated.
It should have been a flawless surgical strike. But the moment they breached the front doors, the earpiece crackled with an urgent warning.
"Target in the living room is moving rapidly toward the basement stairs!"
Was it a coincidence, or had they been spotted?
Remington's eyes narrowed dangerously, and without a second of hesitation, he charged into the house.

Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
