Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington) novel Chapter 1285

While speaking, Lizetta had already taken matters into her own hands. In seconds, she unbuttoned the top three buttons of his dress shirt, yanked the fabric from his trousers, and tried to pull it up to inspect his torso.

Remington firmly caught her wrists. She looked up with teary eyes, meeting his helpless, dark gaze.

"Liz, not here."

He leaned down, his voice dropping to a low murmur near her ear.

"You can look and touch all you want when we get back. But not right now."

The feeling of her frantic, soft fingertips brushing against his abdomen and chest was pure torture.

Embarrassed and frustrated by his shameless teasing, Lizetta noticed several passersby casting curious glances their way.

But she couldn't care less about the audience right now. She glared at him.

"Who's joking around? Where are you hurt? Don't tell me..."

Seeing her gaze start to drift lower, Remington's stomach tightened.

Terrified of where her imagination might wander, he quickly clamped a hand over her eyes and spoke in a serious tone.

"My right shoulder. It's not a big deal. Stop listening to Cedric's dramatic exaggerations."

Hearing it was just his shoulder brought her a fraction of relief, but her tension quickly spiked again.

She pulled his hand away from her face, scolding him fiercely.

"If your shoulder is hurt, why are you moving around so much? Stay still. I'll support you."

With utmost care, she wrapped her arm around his waist, signaling for him to walk.

Remington felt like he had suddenly aged fifty years, but seeing her protective fussing filled him with quiet satisfaction.

A faint smile touched his lips as he allowed her to guide him slowly out of the terminal.
