Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington) novel Chapter 1309

Her body felt incredibly soft and relaxed, and her heart was brimming with an overwhelming sense of fulfillment and peace.

Too lazy to move, she simply allowed her eyelids to flutter open.

The lighting in the hospital room was dim, leaving her momentarily disoriented about the time of day.

However, judging by the gnawing hunger in her stomach, Lizetta guessed she had been asleep for quite a while.

"Baby, are you awake?"

She had merely blinked, yet somehow the man behind her immediately sensed she was up.

Lizetta gently loosened her hold on Joy and slowly turned her head.

"Yeah. What time is it?"

She asked softly.

In the darkness, Remington's eyes gleamed with a deep, liquid light. He leaned in to press a kiss to her cheek before answering.

"It's almost dawn."

Lizetta blinked, struggling to comprehend.

No wonder she felt so ravenous. They had lain down to sleep around eleven in the morning. Had they really slept for fifteen or sixteen hours straight?

Alarmed, Lizetta quickly looked down at Joy in her arms.

"Has Joy not woken up either?"

Babies generally didn't sleep for such long stretches. If Joy had been asleep this whole time, could the lingering effects of the drugs in his system be far worse than the doctor claimed?

Sensing her anxiety, Remington spoke up from behind her.

"He woke up once in the middle. He peed, drank some milk, and went right back to sleep."

Lizetta breathed a sigh of relief, though she felt a bit foolish.

"Was I sleeping that heavily? I didn't even hear him cry."
