During those months, Yolanda had talked to the baby bump every single day and felt him kick countless times.
She still clearly remembered the magical feeling of those little kicks. She couldn't believe that the tiny force thumping against Lizetta's stomach had grown into this incredibly soft, adorable little human.
Yolanda was completely smitten. She reached out her hands to the baby.
"Come give Auntie a hug."
Joy was incredibly accommodating. After staring at her for a moment, he reached out his little arms and gave her a wide, gummy smile.
"Ee-ee! Ah ah ya!"
He flailed his arms excitedly, and his little mouth formed a sound that sounded shockingly close to "Auntie".
No one was entirely sure if it was just random babble or if he had actually managed to say the word.
But Yolanda was ecstatic. She immediately scooped Joy up off Remington's lap and turned to Lizetta, beaming.
"Did you hear that? He just called me Auntie!"
Lizetta nodded, staring at her son in utter amazement.
Remington's handsome face instantly darkened again. The glare he directed at his tiny son was practically radiating raw jealousy.
Yolanda, never one to let a perfect opportunity slide, held the baby and turned to gloat right in Remington's face.
"Mr. Dashiell, it looks like you're failing pretty hard at this fatherhood thing. You better reflect on your life choices."
Remington was already annoyed enough by his little traitor of a son. And now, the kid was humiliating him in front of guests without leaving him a single shred of dignity.
And the worst part was that this was his own flesh and blood. There was absolutely nothing he could do about it.
Annoyed, Remington stood up, giving Lizetta and Yolanda some space.
"You two catch up. I need to go make a few phone calls."
He grabbed his phone, strode toward the door, and shot one last pointed glare at Joy as he walked past.

Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
