Predictably, the casual grin on his face faltered for a split second.
His hands clenched tightly on his knees. Forcing a dismissive smirk, he asked in a strained, nonchalant tone, "Hearing you say that, does Yolanda actually have something going on? She's an actress on the rise. Is she really that short-sighted? This is no time to be dating or getting married. If you're really her friend, you should talk some sense into her."
Lizetta let out a soft chuckle. Patting Joy's back, she raised an eyebrow.
"Why would I talk her out of it? If she finds a man who loves, cherishes, and respects her, I'll fund the entire wedding myself and drive them to the courthouse. My Yolanda isn't some manufactured teen idol; she's a serious actress. Marriage won't tank her career. What's wrong with starting a family before conquering the industry? Besides, she'll have unlimited access to Madden Media's resources. And if that's not enough, there's always the Starlight Group. Tossing a few premium endorsement deals her way wouldn't be an issue, right?"
She turned to Remington, who nodded obligingly.
"Whatever you decide."
Lizetta immediately tilted her chin at Cassius in triumph.
Unable to maintain his fake smile any longer, Cassius let out a dark, frustrated scoff. He nodded tightly and stood up.
"Fine. Joy is asleep anyway, so I won't intrude any longer."
The baby had indeed tired himself out, dozing off after just a few soothing pats from his mother.
Cassius spun on his heel and strode out, his retreating figure radiating a heavy, sullen aura.
Once he was gone, Lizetta turned to Remington.
"You're not mad that I just completely shut down your best buddy, are you?"
Remington chuckled softly as he stood up. Carefully taking their sleeping son from her arms, he replied,

Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....

This novel is too sad. When will Lizetta experience real happiness. Why is her life so miserable.. Author pls bring changes in the story....
