Nathan offered a gruff sound of agreement.
Inside the hospital room.
After playing with everyone for a while, Joy's little head tilted to the side, and he drifted off to sleep right in Lizetta's arms.
She carefully placed him on the bed, gently patting his tiny shoulders to ease him into a deeper slumber.
Looking down at his sweet face with boundless affection, she whispered to Remington.
"I think Joy looks a bit more like me."
Babies' features were still forming, and beautiful people often shared similar traits.
Even though Joy was exquisitely perfect, it was genuinely hard to tell exactly which parent he favored more at this stage.
Hearing her words, Remington lay down on the bed beside them.
He wrapped his arms around Lizetta from behind, propping himself up on one elbow to look over her shoulder at the sleeping boy.
He teased her deliberately, "He clearly looks more like me."
Lizetta didn't bother arguing. "Yes, yes, he looks like you."
Her thoughts began to drift, circling back to what Remington had mentioned earlier about the little girl who looked like Jerome.
That naturally led her to think of Kimberley, who had a complicated history with Jerome.
When Kimberley first debuted, her beauty had been legendary—she was practically the gold standard for the pure, innocent look in the entertainment industry.
If those two had a child together, the baby would undoubtedly be gorgeous.
As she thought about this, Lizetta suddenly recalled the beautiful mother she had caught a fleeting glimpse of in the children's play area when she went to pick up Fiona.
She had thought the woman looked incredibly familiar at the time. Now that she connected the dots, wasn't that Kimberley without her makeup?
And the little girl was named Candy Evert. She had her mother's last name.
But did she simply take her mother's name, or was the father also named Evert?

Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
