The man pulled back just enough to trail his lips over hers, lightly grazing her swollen bottom lip as he murmured hoarsely.
"It hurts. Soothe it for me."
Lizetta thought to herself that his gunshot wound was on his shoulder. Even though it had scabbed over, it hadn't fully healed inside. Even if it hurt or itched, it wasn't something to be rubbed.
But a second later, her face flushed bright red.
By the time they finally emerged from the bathroom, almost an hour had passed.
Joy was still fast asleep, his little butt sticking up in the air. Lizetta thought they had been entirely too loud in the bathroom and was terrified they had woken the baby.
Remington had carried her out, whispering soothing words, promising he would be quick and claiming he was keeping an ear out for Joy the whole time, which was why she had finally...
But the man was a total liar. A massive fraud.
Seeing that Joy was still asleep, Lizetta let out a long sigh of relief before shooting a fierce glare over her shoulder at Remington.
The man looked utterly satisfied, a lazy smile playing on his lips. He wrapped an arm around her waist, led her over to the sofa, and gently laid her down.
"Weren't you just complaining that your lower back was sore? Lie down, I'll rub it for you."
Lizetta's entire body felt like jelly. If he wanted to pamper her, she certainly wasn't going to say no.
She lay on the sofa, resting her head on his lap. His large hands settled on her waist, kneading the tense muscles with expert precision.
A rosy flush still clung to Lizetta's cheeks. Remington lowered his gaze to take in the sight, his eyes darkening once again.
Having had a taste, he was craving more. He hadn't been fully satisfied just now, mostly because the location wasn't ideal.
She had been hyper-aware of Joy sleeping outside, and equally worried about the wound on his back. She hadn't been very cooperative, forcing him to coax her every step of the way.
Still, it had its own unique thrill.
Lizetta knew him too well. Sensing the shift in his mood, she quickly spoke up to distract him.

Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
