In the Car.
Lizetta and Yolanda were nestled in the back seat, with a giant teddy bear taking up a significant chunk of space beside Lizetta. Yolanda had just found out that this bear was yet another gift from Remington, and it made her palms sweat with unease.
It was one thing to deal with a heartbreaker, but a heartbreaker pretending to be sincere? That was a whole different story.
With Remington's smooth-talking ways, Liz didn't stand a chance against his charm offensive.
"Liz, are you and Remington...?" Yolanda started hesitantly, glancing over at her friend. Lizetta caught her eye and gave Yolanda's cheek a playful pinch.
"Don't worry about it. I'm not going to fall for his tricks that easily."
There wasn't much going on between her and Remington at the moment. She had merely agreed to give him another chance, but there was still a long way to go before anything serious happened.
For now, if Remington wanted to make her happy, she'd let him try. But if he ever made her unhappy or brought negative vibes, she'd have no problem showing him the door.
She had her family, the entire Madden clan, as her support system. The risk was low, and she wasn't afraid.
Besides, the idea of accepting Remington’s advances just to irk Stella was tempting enough to give it a shot.
"Really? From what I see, Badass Remington is like a new man. He's practically turned into everyone's wingman. Don't let him fool you, Liz!" Yolanda insisted.
Lizetta nodded along, but before Yolanda could continue, Remington's tall figure emerged from the villa and quickly approached the car.
Yolanda tried to keep her cool and went silent.
He reached the car but didn't head to the driver’s seat. Instead, he opened the door on Lizetta's side.
With a casual arm resting on the window, he bent down to address Lizetta.
"Liz, it's cramped back there. Why don't you take the passenger seat?"
The big teddy bear was indeed hogging a lot of space, but Lizetta and Yolanda were petite enough to fit.

The readers' comments on the novel: Shattered Illusions Love Lies and Redemption (Lizetta and Remington)
Does evil really triumph always above the good in this novel ? How comes Stella's evilness has no end? Does the author believes that by giving justice and importance to bad people like Stella will make this novel interesring? I am starting to lose my patience and ask when will the writer finally will realize that the protagonist is Lizetta and not Stella....
