"How dare you?! How could you do something so vindictive?!"

This psychological torture was a million times worse than Dante simply being killed.

For years, he genuinely believed Leo was his own flesh and blood, only to discover it was an astronomical medical blunder!

How was he supposed to live with this level of humiliation?!

Watching the shattered expressions of Dante and Florence, Quinn's mind drifted back to the agonizing memories of two years ago.

Her heart had been so thoroughly broken that she couldn't stomach the thought of carrying Dante's child. Seeing the clinic's disastrous mistake had felt like a divine escape, so she quietly let fate take the wheel.

Raymond glanced down at Quinn, a massive tidal wave of emotion crashing through him. He never could have anticipated that Leo was actually his own biological son.

Florence looked like a ghost, her spirit completely crushed as she muttered in sheer disbelief, "How... how could this happen?!"

Old Mrs. Moretti's stern voice cut through the hysterics. "The clinic kept their mouths shut to avoid lawsuits. Quinn had absolutely no idea the anonymous donor was Raymond."

"It wasn't until I saw how identical Leo looked to Raymond as a child that I launched my own investigation and demanded this DNA test."

"So the boy has always belonged to Raymond and Quinn. With them raising him, there is zero scandalous overlap."

Florence's legs finally gave out. She stumbled violently, only avoiding collapsing onto the floor because Dante managed to grab her arm.

Leo wasn't Dante's son. He wasn't a Hayes. Every single argument she had prepared to steal the boy's custody had just evaporated into a spectacular joke.

Her lips trembled uncontrollably as she gasped out, "No... this is impossible!"

"There's no way it was just a coincidence! You two colluded to humiliate us!"

Old Mrs. Moretti arched an eyebrow, her tone eerily calm yet radiating absolute authority. "The report comes from the top medical board in the country. If you're delusional enough to doubt it, run your own test!"

"As for how the donor samples were destroyed and swapped, Dante is more than capable of verifying the clinic's negligence himself."

Florence slumped heavily against her son, completely defeated.

Dante stared at the DNA report on the table, the last shred of light dying in his eyes.

Quinn was forever out of his reach, and now, he didn't even have a claim to Leo.

The irony was absolutely suffocating.

He had never once doubted his paternity, banking on the supposed safety of blood ties to keep Quinn tethered to him. Yet in the end, he had never truly possessed any of it.

"Quinn is my wife, and Leo is my son," Raymond declared with quiet lethality. "From this day forward, I am the only one who takes care of them."

"Nobody could have predicted the clinic's screw-up, but since the universe brought us here, you had better swallow the reality."

"Florence, Dante."

"The dust has settled. Throwing a tantrum will only further destroy whatever dignity you have left," old Mrs. Moretti said, casually blowing on her hot tea. "Leave. You need time to digest your new reality. Go home and stay out of trouble."

Dante cast one final, agonizing look at Quinn before practically dragging his catatonic mother out of the manor.

Their retreating figures were the ultimate picture of miserable, bitter defeat.

On the drive back, Raymond and Quinn sat side by side in the luxurious backseat of their car.

Quinn remained silent, still trying to process the earth-shattering revelation.

Raymond reached out, enveloping her small hands in his warm grip. "What's on your mind?" he asked softly.

Quinn's throat bobbed. It took her a long moment before she whispered, "I just never imagined... that Leo was actually yours."
