“In our family, Mom is the boss,” Maria said with a smile. “Dad and my brothers always listen to her. However, there’s one issue.” 

Joel sat up in bed, his face tense. “What issue?” 

Maria explained, “The transfer requires the property deed, but the deed is with my grandfather. 

“You know that we’re not very close to him. If we ask him for the deed, he’ll likely refuse once he realizes we want to transfer the house to you.” 

Joel immediately said, “That’s easy to handle. We’ll either steal it or convince him to give it to us.” 

Isla added, “Let’s go see Grandpa today and find a way to get the property deed back.” 

“Sorry to trouble you,” Maria replied. “As long as we get the deed back, we can go right away to complete the transfer paperwork.” 

The couple felt their pain fade away and exclaimed, “Maria, you have to tell Claire that we will definitely honor her!” 

Maria smiled but didn’t reply. 

As Arthur met with Gavin and his group, Gavin and his wife asked, “When will your family take us to complete the transfer? We have the elderly and children to care for. This needs to be done soon so we can all rest.” 

Arthur sincerely replied, “We can go for the transfer anytime. Do you have your ID and household registration?” 

Only then did Gavin and the others remember they needed both parties‘ household registrations for the transfer. Before coming to Kitmore City, they hadn’t anticipated this requirement. 

Gavin quickly responded, “No problem! I’ll take Hamza back to get our household registration now.” 

Ronan chimed in, “We also need ours. It’s in a small wooden box in our wardrobe upstairs.” 

Gavin grabbed his phone and bag. “I’ll go back with Hamza right away.” 

Arthur chuckled to himself, thinking, Just go back quickly. 

Gavin wouldn’t be able to get the household registration. 

Athena had already sent someone to steal the household registrations from Gavin’s and Ronan’s homes. 

Without the registrations, even if the Donovan family gave then a hundred houses, they wouldn’t be able to receive anything. 

After Gavin and Hamza left, Arthur took the remaining people to lunch. 

After lunch, Ronan was already feeling very tired eager to head home for a nap. 

They slept deeply while Isla quietly slipped into their room, rummaging through their bags under the pillow and taking the property deed. 

The next morning, Isla went to the housing authority with the property deed and met Maria, who was there to handle the transfer paperwork for the Donovan family. 

Unfortunately, when Joel arrived with the household registration, the housing authority had already closed for the day. The three decided to have lunch nearby and wait in line for the housing authority to reopen in the afternoon. 

There were a lot of people this afternoon. 

Dozens of people were in line ahead of them, each seemingly unaware of what business they were processing, dragging their feet, making it hard for anything to get done. 

Joel and Isla were frantic. “The people in front are so slow. Will we manage to finish the paperwork before they close?” 

Maria smiled. “We’re here now. We’ll definitely get it done. There’s no need to rush.” 

She shook her phone and said, “Today is a good day. Let’s take a commemorative photo!” 

Feeling smug, Joel and Isla readily agreed without much thought, holding the property deed and their household registration as they posed for a photo with Maria. 

Unbeknownst to them, after taking the photo, Maria posted it on Facebook with the caption: [This afternoon, our family transferred the old house scheduled for demolition to my cousin. Congratulations to them for getting a house in Kitmore City. They are residents in Kitmore City now!] 

She then set the post to be visible only to Cavin’s family. 

When the Gavin family saw this post, they flared up.
