Meanwhile, in Dynalis, at the Hansley’s mansion, the old couple couldn’t sit still at all as they paced up and down. Their eyes once in a while look towards the staircase and the elevator.
The clock was ticking and Diamond hadn’t appeared in the past two days or emerged from her room. They were all getting worried.
"Dear, do you think .....?" Erica asked as she looked at her husband but couldn’t even finish her question as at that time, the butler suddenly stared at the staircase with a bewildered expression forcing her to stare in that direction as well.
And as soon as she looked that way, her body felt so weak, she staggered as she looked at the person she had been dreaming of seeing.
But what was this she was seeing?
Erica couldn’t help but feel faint.
This didn’t seem to be too good!
She suddenly had a bad premonition.
Several minutes later, Erica’s hand continued to tremble despite being held by her husband’s.
She still felt that everything was a dream and whatever was happening, it was absolutely a dream. And one she didn’t dare want to believe in.
A while ago, her dream was fulfilled. The person she wanted to see, indeed, appeared, but she emerged like a different person and honestly, until now, her heart hadn’t settled at all.
Standing in front of them was Diamond, who had finally come out of her seclusion.
Erica still remembered the last time she saw Diamond. It was after the wedding when the team that went to Rozinya left for the airport.
Erica still remembered her domineering words that evening.
"We are all in a panic and in a hurry. And so am I. I didn’t come all the way to watch Zara die. I can never allow such a thing to happen. And since fate lets us meet, then I will do anything in my power to make sure that she comes out alive. Not only this time but until she completely gets cured of this curse!" she solemnly declared, a hint of promise and dedication in her tone as she looked at her and her husband. "Even if I have to pay a price. I will do so. Because that’s the reason why I am here!"
After saying such words, Diamond went into seclusion and didn’t appear again until now.
And now that Erica was seeing Diamond again, her heart felt heavy as she looked at this stranger who left her home to help a poor soul.
The pressure on her must have been so heavy. Otherwise, why did such a pretty girl, whom she last saw with a head full of hair so black like a raven, emerge with a head full of silver hair?
Wasn’t that how their Zara woke up one day?
That was the beginning of that damn curse.
Her hair mysteriously turned white and then her body started failing until she reached the point she was today.
And here they were, witnessing this merciful soul who had done nothing to harm them but only did good, getting affected by their problems.
Was this truly the right thing for them to do?
Erica couldn’t help but feel guilty as she looked at the young lady standing in front of them.
She wanted to urge the other to stop so badly and yet at the same time, she knew that she couldn’t do such a thing.
She was selfish and greedy.
For the sake of her family, and to get her granddaughter back, she was willing to become a villain.
Besides, didn’t Diamond promise herself that she was willing to pay any price to save Zara?
Since it was already like that, rather than feeling guilty for what kind of price Diamond must have paid, she might as well compensate the other more than once this whole thing was done.
With her conscience slowly getting cleared, Erica finally found herself in the mood to listen to whatever Diamond had to say.
After all, she wouldn’t leave her seclusion without anything tangible. That would be cruel of them.
Diamond indeed had something to say, and there was no time for her to explain to these people what exactly was going on. There was no time for that.
Besides, it wasn’t like she owed them any explanation. They were all getting what they needed at this point.
"I need a team of strong men, probably twenty, to follow me where the book is. At the same time, those with connections call the management of the Kuville Museum and have them clear the place. I don’t care how you do it, but in the next two hours, the place should be empty. Otherwise, the consequences would be deadly!" and as soon as she opened her mouth, she dropped another bomb without any care of what these people might think.
