After a long day of playing outside, the three returned to the Daniels Estate. On the way to the estate, Penny, who had developed some dislike towards Diamond due to Gracelynn’s closeness to her, suddenly brought up a topic, a scheme she came up with after fearing for the unknown.
"Diamond, you talked about your boyfriend earlier. Do you think that it’s possible to invite him over for dinner? That way we can also meet him, and since he stays here, perhaps, my husband can keep an eye on him and lend a help when in trouble," Penny softly suggested, her tone tinged with generosity and desire to meet Gael and make friends.
Diamond didn’t notice anything, but was actually moved by Penny’s words.
Gael should be done with work by now, and without her meeting Russ, she wouldn’t be able to return to him anytime soon. Which means her boyfriend will be all by himself which was starting to make her heart ache at the thought of it.
What Penny has suggested sounded pretty good. After all, it wasn’t all about dinner, but also making acquaintances. Although Gael was planning to return to the country around December to January, there were still months until that time comes.
No one can be certain that they can be safe all the time. So having Gael have a backer to help him in times of need when she wasn’t there wouldn’t be so bad. With that in mind, she looked at Penny with a grateful expression and said smilingly, "that’s very kind of you. Let me give him a call. He should be waiting already," accepting Penny’s kindness.
Penny smiled back, sighing with relief inwardly. At least, Diamond knew to play along. It would have been bad if she had refused, her intentions would be very sketchy.
Without wasting time, Diamond took out her phone, and made a call right in front of Penny. Gracelynn, tired with all the playing was currently napping, thus her silence.
Diamond made the call and after several rings, the call went through and since she was wearing earpods, Penny couldn’t hear what Gael was saying but she could connect the pieces through what Diamond was saying.
After all, Diamond was still speaking the Brece language and not her vernacular language.
After the call was picked, Diamond heard that man’s wonderful voice she hadn’t heard the whole day and her face brightened up.
[Dear. You doing good?]
"Hehe, very well. Had a very entertaining day. Enjoyed it a lot," she cheerfully responded, unable to hide her happiness.
[Haha, that’s good. I can hear that you had a lot of fun. Hope that you are missing me.]
"I always miss you all the time," she couldn’t help but flirt back, making Penny to look out of the window, envy overwhelming her.
How she wished her marriage was also this good! Unfortunately, you can’t have everything that you wish for in this life.
[I missed you as well. When are you coming? I am about to prepare dinner.]
"Good thing I called now. Don’t cook. Can you come over? The girl’s parents are inviting you over. You come and we can go back home together," she started telling him the reason why she was calling.
When she told him that, he was silent for a moment before he responded, [Okay. I will prepare to come over then. Send me the location. Is there something that you want me to bring over for you in the process?]
