"Today marks the end of the first semester of the year ..." standing at the podium was a slightly chubby man, who also happen to be the Summit University Dean.
Being the last day of the semester, it was unavoidable that every single student from the freshmen to the final year students had to attend this closing ceremony.
It wasn’t a ceremony that students liked. After all, these teachers always find ways to torture them with these long and boring speeches when all they want to do is go home and finally be free.
Unfortunately, they didn’t have a choice and could only sit there and listen to every single word.
Their school was very strict. Attending the closing ceremony was a must and compulsory. There were points given to students for attending such events, and the opening and closing ceremonies held more points.
So, unless, a student wanted to fail or go on the bad side of the professors and administrators, then skip the ceremony.
The Dean yapped for a long time, and students only wanted to push the man away, but nothing could be done.
However, despite being unwanted there, the man provided a lot of useful information.
"Your results will be sent to you starting on the 17th of June. So, keep an eye on your emails. If there is a need to rewrite the exams, that will be provided to you when the time comes."
"The next semester is starting on the 17th of July ....."
Listening in the audience was Ruby, who was speechless as she heard the date of opening.
They just closed on the 8th, and yet, the holiday was just a month ago. When would they rest, to be honest?
Thankfully, it wasn’t that cold yet despite being winter, but who knows what might happen in the future?
Thinking about the time she was spending in class, Ruby started regretting picking her school. If she knew that she would spend ten months in class, she might have picked a more lenient school. Unfortunately, there was no such thing as regret.
Although she felt indignant because of the time she was spending on classes, the thought of being finally free and being able to live with her sister and go to work made her beam.
The time might be short, but four years will fly by in no time. If Diamond could survive those four years, then what would stop her?
With her energy renewed, Ruby listened to everything and captured what she considered useful and filtered the rest.
Thankfully, the ceremony lasted for three hours before they were released.
Being released meant it was time to go home for real. How could they not be happy?
The students exited the large hall in groups chatting happily with the smile on their faces very vivid. It could be seen how much everyone was in a good mood.
Among the freshmen, Ruby was walking with her own group.
These five months had made her connect with friends from all walks of life. Those who were genuine and those who were fake, who only sought benefits.
Being exposed to something like that helped her to grow and mature. Without Diamond’s exclusive protection, Ruby could only maneuver this on her own. She didn’t bother to tell Diamond some of the troubles she was facing at school.
She can’t always rely on Diamond forever, right?
Moreover, Diamond was a busy person. Although others might not think that way, as her sister, she knew how hard Diamond worked. It was even difficult for the sisters to have time to themselves. So how could she have time to spend on some trifles?
Moreover, if she were to include Diamond, knowing her tactics, Ruby feared that she might find herself friendless.
So, it was for the best to deal with her own troubles. Surely, that proved to be the best decision.
Although not every friend of hers was genuine, there were still those who were good. She wasn’t lonely at all.
Since the ceremony had ended, there was no need for the students to go back to their classrooms. So, for those with cars, they were heading towards the parking lots and that included Ruby, while those who lived at the campus were heading back to the dormitories and the others were either on their way out or just roaming around the campus.
The campus will not be closed even during the holidays after all.
Anyway, back to Ruby, heading to the parking lot with her friends, they were chatting happily and sharing their holiday plans.
"Have you thought about what you want to do?"
"I am going to see my parents. I missed them so much."
"I will be traveling abroad. I want to go and chill with some foreigners."
"Haha, don’t forget to bring us souvenirs."
"Don’t worry. I will bring you a lot," the girl in question generously said before looking at Ruby and asking, "What about you, Ruby?"
And all eyes were on Ruby.
