He flicked his hands for a moment, trying to loosen up before he courageously raised his hand and knocked on the door lightly, before dropping his hand to wait.
Creak.
Sean stood by the door for two minutes or so before the door opened, and that face, which he didn’t get tired of watching, appeared in his view.
"You look stunning!" he blurted the compliment unconsciously, the moment he set his eyes on her, and she beamed at him upon hearing that.
He had always known that Ruby was beautiful. She knew how to dress and knew her features pretty well. Whether she was donning branded clothes or not, she was the epitome of beauty.
At her age, she carried this mature aura that kept drawing him towards her.
He was in deep, and he knew it.
"Thank you!" her sweet voice sounded as her eyes turned into crescents stretching her hands towards the bouquet which he happily passed onto her.
Ruby looked at the flowers and felt very touched.
When she meets her friends during the vacation and tell them that she had received countless bouquets not just from Sean but other guys, would they swoon with jealous?
She couldn’t help but beam further at the thought of that.
"Thank you," she uttered as she accepted the flowers.
"Flowers for a beauty!" he said, teasing her and Ruby stuck her tongue at him playfully before saying, "Wait for a second. I want to take my bag!"
After saying so, she dashed into the house, leaving the door open and Sean at the door.
It was reckless to let a man into her house. Especially one that looks at her like that.
Whilst she might be able to protect herself. Ruby wasn’t entirely certain that she could fight a man. After all, she only cultivated but didn’t exchange blows with anyone.
Thinking about that, she decided to talk to Diamond about it and find a sparring partner. The world was dangerous. If she can’t protect herself, she relies on the bodyguards always shadowing her. If something happens to them, then wouldn’t she be in trouble?
Thankfully, right now, she hadn’t attracted anyone with evil intentions but to be on the safer side, she was going to do her best during the holiday.
Those were her thoughts as she added a few things into her handbag and placed the flowers in a vase with fresh water.
Once she was done, she walked towards the door with an apologetic smile. After all, she made him wait for her outside, which looked a bit rude, but couldn’t be helped.
"Let’s go!" she said smilingly as she locked the door.
Sean stretched his arm towards her, and she naturally hooked with hers before the two of them started walking away.
Ding!
The elevator door opened, and Ruby smiled wryly upon seeing the person who was coming out.
It was her opposite neighbor and a senior student, Eugene. Who was also one of the first friends she made at school?
Eugene wasn’t bad. Just a bit too talkative at times, it becomes irritating. She was too enthusiastic, and it seems that Eugen herself didn’t seem to realize that, or perhaps she simply pretended like she didn’t know.
Meeting her when she was with Sean, she could only pray that Eugene was busy. Otherwise, she would never hear the end of it.
"Ruby! Sean! I didn’t expect to see you here!" Eugene exclaimed, her eyes brightening upon seeing the two.
Ruby nodded politely at Eugene and responded as she pulled Sean to the elevator. "How are you?"
Eugene stepped out of the elevator, responding, "I am doing well. I didn’t expect to see you. It’s been a while," and it seemed that she wasn’t occupied, seeing how she was in the mood to chat like that.
Sean pressed the button, and Ruby’s lips twitched, but she still didn’t forget to reply to Eugene. "Yeah, exams!"
Eugene sighed heavily when that was said and as she was about to respond, the elevator door started to close and all the words she wanted to say were cut off.
She could only embarrassingly say to Ruby, "I will see you later!" before nodding politely at Sean, unfortunately that wasn’t seen as the door closed shut.
Eugene sighed regretfully as she walked towards her room, mumbling, "There is so much I wanted to talk to her about. Alas, I guess I have to wait another day," her lines a bit shameless.
After all, who chats with a busy person?
Couldn’t she read the room?
Anyway, the couple laughed heartily once they escaped Eugene.
Sean couldn’t help but complain, "Your friend .... She is truly one of a kind!"
Ruby chuckled and nodded at his words. "She doesn’t know how to read the room, at times!"
"Indeed!"
For someone like her, she will end up offending people unknowingly, but that was on her.
The couple didn’t talk about Eugene for a long time, but changed the topic and started talking about where they were going to dine that night.
