The next morning as Zara sat on the bed, with the machines beeping next to her, her mind never stopped questioning reality.
’Is this really happening?’
’I heard the doctor, right? I didn’t mishear, right?’
She couldn’t help but be in a daze, honestly.
It all felt like a dream, and this dream started at the moment that she was given that pill by Diamond.
With the healing pill in hand, Zara left Diamond’s villa in a state of excitement, which resulted in her getting connected to the machines as soon as she reached her place. She wasn’t allowed to be overly emotional. Her state didn’t allow it.
However, before sleeping, she emphasized greatly how she must take the pill. Emma and Ava refused firmly and it nearly gave them a headache.
It was Quinn who sided with her, and only then did she take the pill before dozing off.
As for what happened when she was sleeping, honestly, she didn’t know. But all she knew was that when she woke up, the doctors who came with her were busy running tests that she nearly went dizzy.
And when the results were announced, she had been in a daze ever since then.
She, the one who had been sick for fifteen years, was healthy. She didn’t have any ailments anymore. All sickness healed, and that included her immune system, which had been a major problem in her life.
To think that a single pill could change her life like this, she was at a loss and didn’t know how to respond or even think at that moment.
However, with worried servants beside her, she could only jolt herself out of her reverie and return to reality.
Looking at the two ladies with a smile, Zara responded to their many questions, a relaxed expression on her face.
"I am feeling fine. I told you that she will not hurt me!" she happily said, defending Diamond, who her servants were wary of until now.
Upon hearing that, the two could only sigh deeply. How can that be believable?
In this world, a person can possess such a pill? If that pill really exists, then wouldn’t people be waging wars just to get it?
However, on second thoughts, weren’t there a lot of mysteries around the world?
After all, what were they doing in a foreign country, a very long way from home?
They couldn’t help but feel contradictory and filled with questions.
Nevertheless, despite the assurance, they couldn’t help but be anxious and fearful.
So, to respond to Zara’s words, Emma answered, "I understand that she might not hurt you, but mind you, you only met yesterday. Do you think that it will make sense to give such a precious pill, just like that?"
Ava nodded, finding Emma’s words to be reasonable. This was the kind of pill that wouldn’t be given out easily. Even if it was given out, a lot of money needed to be paid in exchange. It wasn’t something that could be given for free unless the other person wanted something from Zara.
With the two people speaking in exchange, Zara’s cloudy mind started clearing up.
These two were speaking sense. They just met, so how could Diamond part with something that precious so easily like that?
Could it be that there was something that she needed from her and perhaps stalked her?
Or could it be that she was someone who was sent by Amir?
She hadn’t heard anything from him for a while now. He promised to come to Athary, but she hadn’t seen his shadow in the slightest.
She couldn’t help but be suspicious of Diamond. But there was no point in being suspicious on her own.
Diamond seemed to be the straightforward kind of person and for a person like that, asking directly would solve all issues.
So, she looked at the two ladies and told them, "Take me to Diamond. I need to ask her something!" her tone was serious, leaving no room for arguments.
She didn’t want to have this turned into an argument which would never end.
The two hearing that, didn’t oppose. They also wanted answers, so they helped Zara as soon as possible so that she was in a state where she could meet Diamond.
An hour later, Zara once again was sitting in front of Diamond, but they weren’t in any villa but in a gazebo at the back of the mountain.
Zara’s people were patrolling, or rather keeping vigilance, just in case something happens. While Diamond was by herself without any backup, not that she was powerless. With a flick of her finger, Zara’s people would be gone.
At the table, refreshments were placed there, and the two were munching on them relaxedly.
"I bet that you used the pill yesterday. How do you feel?" Diamond asked as she corked a brow at Zara, scanning her face.
Zara beamed upon getting that question. "I feel great. My body has never been this light before!"
