Kylie was dumbstruck.

She turned stiffly and looked at Winnie.

When she saw the grin on Winnie’s face, Kylie felt a chill run down her spine.

“You are out to get me! Am I right? You aren’t retarded at all! You evil witch!” Kylie cried out furiously as she reached out to strangle Winnie.

Unfortunately for her, she had underestimated Winnie’s agility.

With one swift move, Winnie was able to dodge Kylie’s grasp without breaking a sweat.

At the present moment, both women were standing on different steps of the staircase. When Winnie dodged Kylie, the latter lost her footing, staggered, and fell right onto the ground.

Ha! Serves her right. Winnie sneered and started clapping away.

“Good fall! Well done! You deserve it! Louis, let’s go. I want to eat something delicious.”

Upon returning to the condominium at Aqua Moana, Winnie immediately stopped pretending to be a retard.

She sat down and poured herself and Louis a glass of water each.

Louis was overwhelmed by her kind gesture and quickly accepted the glass. “Mrs. Fairchild, there’s no need to trouble yourself. I can help myself.”

Winnie nodded and put the glass down.

She was exuding an imposing aura as she pointed at the seat facing her and said, “Take a seat.”

“Thank you.” Louis sat down and said, “Liam will need at least a day to apply for the search warrant. I think Zyon will destroy the evidence before that.”

“That’s for sure. How are things on your end? Have you set everything up? Do you have the stuff with you?”

“Yes, it’s here.”

With that, Louis took out a clear plastic bag from his briefcase. There were two beads inside.

They came from the bracelet that Kylie broke at the cliff back then.

Winnie took the bag and nodded. “That’s right. This is what I’m looking for. How about the rest of the beads? Have you hidden them?”

“Yes, I hid them in a more discreet area. I have also scattered a few of the emerald beads on the mountain according to your instruction. Kylie and the others have no idea that you were wearing a wooden bracelet that night. Those emerald beads will be enough to confuse them. But…” Louis hesitated.

Winnie glanced at him and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“When you went missing, it rained heavily for two days. The beads have been washed into the mud by the rain. Even if the police find them, I doubt they will be able to find Kylie’s fingerprints on them.”

“So, that’s what you are worried about.” Winnie smiled and continued, “It’s a small matter. I’ll handle it.”

“Okay!” Kylie nodded fervently before giving Zyon a peck on his cheek. “Thank you, Mr. Fairchild!”

After Kylie left, Zyon then questioned Yulissa, “What’s wrong with you? Why did you send her away? She’s also one of the culprits. All of us must be on the same page!”

“On the same page? Mr. Fairchild, are you trying to protect Kylie? Are you falling for her?”

“Fall for her? Stop joking! She’s just a brainless bimbo. That’s all. I can get plenty of women like her if I want to,” Zyon responded with disdain.

“It’s a good thing that you aren’t in love with her. When the time comes to send her in, you won’t be upset.”

“What do you mean? Do you intend to let Kylie take the blame all by herself? But, I have the power to get them to drop the case.”

Yulissa smiled slightly and went on to analyze the situation, “Of course, I’m aware that you have the abilities to do so, Mr. Fairchild. But, the Fairchild family is quite influential in Avenport. Now that they have reported two murder cases, due to the oppression from the higher-ups, the police will have no choice but to solve at least one of the cases. Mr. Fairchild, do you prefer the police to solve the case of the retarded Winnie or the case of the missing Xavier?”

“What a stupid question! Of course, it will be Winnie’s case! Right now, we have to locate the evidence before the police and make sure that Kylie’s fingerprints are on it,” said Zyon without hesitation.

Yulissa nodded. “That’s right. But, that idiot, Kylie did not get a good look at what that retard was wearing that night. On the other hand, Louis has given the police the photo of the accessory. How are we going to look for it? It will be impossible for us to fake the evidence!”

Zyon was racking his brains when Yulissa smiled. “I know what Winnie was wearing on her wrist that night.”

“Have you seen it before?”

To that, Yulissa responded, “Yes. On that day, Xavier has given me a set of diamond jewelry. That’s why I can remember it so clearly. I opened the box secretly and saw that he has given Winnie a bracelet. There are four words engraved on it. ‘Winnie, stay safe always.’ Ha! Looks like the bracelet did keep her safe after all!”
