Chapter 3
I said coldly, “Oh, so it’s okay when you mess with me, but when I mess with you, suddenly I’m being aggressive? Double standards much?”
Leo snapped back angrily, “Maya Thompson, I already explained everything to you! What more do you want? Why have you become like this? You’re so vindictive and vicious now. You never used to be this way!”
Ha.
Even the nicest people can be pushed over the edge.
Since Leo thinks I’m vicious, then I’ll be vicious all the way.
I had zero interest in finishing this dinner.
I stormed out, slamming the door behind me.
Normally, Leo would immediately chase after me.
But by the time I reached my dorm building, there was still no one behind me.
Bitter tears slid down my cheeks.
I couldn’t understand why Leo was suddenly taking Sage’s side unconditionally.
But whatever–if I can’t figure something out, I just won’t think about it.

Tonight, Leo had seriously crossed my bottom line.
I would never forgive him again.
I immediately pulled out my phone and texted Leo that we were breaking up.
Then I took a cab to Leo’s apartment to get all my stuff, determined to cut ties forever.
But when I got to Leo’s apartment, I was surprised to see the lights were on.
Had Leo already come home?
I walked up suspiciously.
Through the door, I could hear Sage and Leo talking.
“Sage, I’m sorry about what happened tonight. I wanted to throw you the perfect celebration dinner, but it turned into such a mess!”
Sage sniffled as she spoke. “Leo, it’s okay. None of this was your fault. I should thank you for letting me stay here tonight. Otherwise, going back to the dorm, I really wouldn’t know how to face Maya.”
My blood instantly started boiling again.
No wonder Leo hadn’t even replied to my breakup text–he was too busy taking care of his precious girl!
Then Leo continued, “Don’t worry, Sage. Maya has a bad temper, and I’m afraid she might do something to hurt you in her rage. If you ever need
it in the future, you can stay at my apartment anytime. It’s close to the company, so it’s convenient for commuting,”
I quickly snuck over to the balcony and quietly pointed my phone’s camera through the window.

Chapter 3
Then I heard Sage say, “Leo, could you please check my ankle? When Maya pushed me earlier, my ankle really hurt. I think I might have twisted
it.”
In the frame, Leo casually placed Sage’s foot on his lap and examined it carefully.
Suddenly, Sage looked down, and the two of them locked eyes–it was like watching some cheesy romantic drama.
The atmosphere immediately turned intimate.
“Leo,” Sage said slowly, “I’m really grateful to you, and I want to repay you properly…”
Then she actually leaned in and kissed Leo on the lips.
To my complete dismay, Leo didn’t push her away. Instead, he picked up Sage and carried her to the bedroom.
I never would have imagined that my boyfriend of three years would betray me today.
Whatever. I should have seen this coming.
Nothing’s more exciting than catching cheaters in the act.
I hid my phone camera in my pocket, then entered the passcode and walked into the apartment.
Hearing the commotion, Leo came out of the bedroom irritated. “Didn’t I tell you to just leave the delivery at the door? Why are you coming into
our place?”
The next second, Leo froze.
Right then, Leo’s delivery order from a pharmacy also arrived.
He rushed over to grab the bag, saying, “Maya, Sage got hurt, so I ordered her some pain relief medicine.”
But I had already seen the word “condoms” on the order.
