Chapter 160-
Chapter 160
Emily’s voice was filled with excitement. “Really, Carter?”
“Really. Emily, when the baby is born, I’ll bring you both back. After that, don’t mess with Whitney anymore, okay? I’ll take care of you.”
She had just been on cloud nine, but with these words, she crashed back down to earth.
‘What did he mean, “don’t mess with Whitney”?’ Emily thought.
‘Does he really see me as a drama queen?’ she wondered.
‘If Whitney hadn’t forced me, I wouldn’t have messed with her at all!’ Emily thought.
Suddenly, Emily felt a sharp pain in her stomach. “Ah!” she cried.
“What’s wrong, Emily?” Carter asked, his voice full of concern.
Emily sat down, rubbing her belly. “It’s nothing, just a little twinge. I’ll be fine in a minute.”
Carter was on edge. The baby was only a month in, and all he wanted was for nothing to go wrong, and for the baby to make it safely into the world.
He was going to be a good husband and a loving father.
“Take it easy. If you need anything, just tell the maids to do it. Do you have enough help? Should I send a few more from home to take care of you?” Carter asked.
Emily’s face stayed cold, but her voice was gentle. “Thank you, Carter.”
Sabrina heard the worry in her son’s voice and asked, “How is she?”
“Is her stomach okay?”
“She’s fine, just a little cramp. She needs to go to the hospital again later,” Carter replied.
“Alright, I’ll call right away! Seriously, your Uncle Klein is unbelievable! He’s so heartless!” Sabrina said.
Carter’s eyes turned cold. ‘Yeah, how could Uncle Klein be so heartless?’ he thought.

While everyone else called him heartless behind his back, Klein was nothing but gentle as he took Whitney’s hand and led her into the car.
He told the driver to raise the partition. The moment the car started moving, he cupped her chin and kissed her hard,
His kiss was greedy and messy, tongues tangling, leaving her breathless.
Whitney couldn’t even sit up straight. She just slumped into his arms, completely undone.
After five long minutes, Klein finally pulled back, pressing his forehead to hers, his eyes still predatory and unsatisfied. “Sorry you had to go through all that today. We won’t be going back to Harris Manor for a while.”

Chapter 160
What if your das misses you?” Whitney asked, her voice soft with concern.
When people got old, all they really wanted was a happy, peaceful family, Whitney thought.
She didn’t want to be the reason Klein ended up fighting with his family.
“Why would he miss me? He’s probably just waiting to hold his great-grandkid anyway!” Klein, said, rolling his eyes.
Whitney chuckled softly and said, “Well, we could always have him come stay with us for a bit.”
“Forget it,” Klein replied without a second thought.
He definitely wasn’t about to invite James over to interrupt their time together.
Whitney’s eyes glimmered. “Klein, do you want a baby?” she asked.
Klein’s eyes narrowed with a teasing smile. “Baby, are you getting baby fever?
Whitney pursed her lips and shook her head gently. “I might get promoted at the end of the year. Can we wait until then?”
His excitement faded a little, but his voice was all gentle. “Of course.”
“We’ll think about kids later. Right now, let’s just enjoy our time together,” he said.
“Baby, I saw a new outfit in the trunk of your car the other day,” Klein said, his voice low and teasing.
Whitney froze.
“It’s not mine. I got it for your niece,” she replied.
Klein rubbed her flushed face and said confidently, “Nice try, but that’s definitely your size.
“Wanna give it another shot tonight?” he teased.
Whitney honestly couldn’t figure out why Klein always came up with these naughty little games.

When Whitney first got this legal aid case, she wasn’t so sure about it.
Medical dispute cases were always a headache.
It took more than just knowing the law. One had to get the medical side too.
Most lawyers who handled these cases had actually worked as doctors before, with real clinical experience, before they switched careers and got their law licenses to specialize in this aspect.
“If you don’t want to take it, just pass it on,” Ivan said, knowing well how tough these cases could be.
They dragged on forever, sometimes taking two years or more to settle..
Besides, there were so many variables that could throw everything off.
Whitney paused for a second, and then nodded. “Alright, I’ll take it,” she said.
“Okay. I’ll hook you up with some experts. They know this stuff inside out,” Ivan said.
