Chapter 79
“Mr. Harris, Carter is outside Do you want to see him?” Ryan asked.
Klein glanced at his phone, seeing five missed calls. He shook his head coldly and said, “No. Just tell him I’m meeting, and you don’t know when it’ll end.”
Ryan, who knew the whole story, couldn’t help but sigh. ‘Mr. Harris is really ruthless with his own nephew thought.
It wasn’t just Carter. Klein didn’t let his niece off the hook either.
He dealt with both of them in one sweep.
Ryan knew it was all because of Whitney.
Once again, Ryan had to admit how much Whitney meant to Klein.
Carter couldn’t get in to see Klein, so he tried calling his father. But his father was on a flight tonight, and his phone was off
Carter stared at the blinking message on his phone screen.

Carter’s frustration grew.
Everything had been going smoothly, but that sudden trending topic threw Carter into chaos, scrambling to put out fires.
If it weren’t for Emily, he wouldn’t have wasted his time on any artists in his company.
But even after stepping in personally, he still couldn’t squash the trending topic.
The higher–ups at Facebook had connections with Uncle Klein, so Carter came hoping Klein could pull some strings.
But he ended up finding out Klein was stuck in a meeting.
That ugly word “plagiarism” had been stuck at the top of the trending topics for five hours straight
Every extra minute it stayed up was another blow to Emily’s image.
Emily couldn’t wait any longer and finally called Carter.
“Carter, can’t you talk to Uncle Klein’s assistant? Just tell him you need to see Uncle Kizin urgently.” Emily said
Carter said, on edge. “Of course I did! You know how Uncle Klein is. He absolutely hates anyone picking up calls cher tong meetings, and he wouldn’t answer calls himself. Even his assistant Ryan wouldn’t dare interrupt him unless it’s bie or des

Wyan was passing by and noticed the tension, so he walked over. “What’s going on here?” he asked
“Mr. Ward, I was just reminding Mr. Harris that smoking isn’t allowed in the office…” she said, sounding a little wronged
“Turns out Carter’s polite and easygoing side was all just for show, the admin girl thought.
How typical. All these trust fund kids are exactly alike; she muttered.
Ryan glanced at Carter, who was puffing away, and said, “Alright, I got this. You can head home now.”
Ryan smiled at Carter, calm and unfazed, and said, “Please don’t take it personally, Carter. Mr. Harris is serious abo smoking policy around here. Even the top execs and board members have to follow it, including your father.”
When Ryan said “Mr. Harris,” he was talking about Carter’s father.
Carter was forced to swallow his pride, his anger raging inside with nowhere to vent.
He roughly stubbed out his cigarette, snapping, “Happy now?”
Ryan just smiled and said, “Sure.”
“Wait, when is Uncle Klein’s meeting supposed to end?” Carter asked, his tone still sharp.
He was still annoyed about having to put out his cigarette.
Ryan’s voice dropped a little and said, “Carter, I’m afraid I don’t have the right to interfere with Mr. Harris’s meetings.”
Carter was speechless.
‘Seriously, could this day get any worse? I’ve had enough of this crap,‘ he thought, feeling utterly defeated.
It wasn’t until eleven at night that Klein finally summoned Cafter, who was practically ready to explode, into his office.
“Carter, Ryan said you had something urgent. What’s going on?” Klein asked, his voice calm and unhurried.
He slowly slipped on his suit jacket, adjusted his tie, and spoke in that calm, detached way of his. Carter pursed his lips, knowing better than to show any sign of displeasure in front of Klein.
“Uncle Klein, someone’s been deliberately smearing Emily today, accusing her of plagiarism and even paying to make it a trending topic. I tried to get it removed, but nothing worked. Could you talk to your contacts and help she get it taken down?” Carter asked, his voice tinged with anxiety.
Klein gave Carter a long, meaningful look and said, “Oh? So you’re telling me Emily didn’t copy anyone?
“Of course… not!” Carter fidgeted, suddenly unsure under Klein’s unreadable gaze.
“Uncle Klein, you know she’s had & rough her whole life. People have been dragging her online all night. Do you know two bad she’s feeling” Carter said, worry all over his face.
“Well Klein nodded, his voice calm and distant. “It’s tough for her, sure. But the entertainment industry is ruthless can’t handle it, Carter, maybe you should tell her to give up before it gets any wore
