"Did I just imagine things?"
As Lin Ya locked the door of the room, a shocked voice sounded from the corridor not far away.
The speaker was none other than Jing, the girl who had previously attempted to assassinate Hu Xiaobei.
Earlier, when she stepped out of the room, she accidentally saw Hu Xiaobei hurrying in this direction. Curiosity piqued, she decided to follow him to see what was happening.
She was stunned by the scene she witnessed here. She thought the progress between Lin Ya and Hu Xiaobei was remarkably fast!
...
"Jing, what are you doing here?"
Upon hearing this surprised inquiry, Jing turned around and found a girl around her age looking at her, equally puzzled.
Evidently, the girl didn’t know why Jing was there.
"I’m not doing anything, just wandering around."
Jing didn’t know how to explain what she had seen, so she opted to say nothing and told a small lie.
No sooner had she spoken than she heard the girl casually say, "Really? I happened to have something to discuss with you. Come with me!"
"Okay!"
Jing agreed and left together with the girl.
As she turned around, Jing glanced again at Lin Ya’s room.
She was determined to find a time to ask about everything and understand what truly happened.
...
Lin Ya was unaware that Jing had witnessed everything. After locking the door, she looked at Hu Xiaobei, who was sitting comfortably on her bed.
"He really doesn’t think of himself as an outsider!"
Blushing, Lin Ya murmured to herself as she approached Hu Xiaobei.
Once standing in front of Hu Xiaobei, she shyly asked, "Would you like something to drink?"
Hu Xiaobei was observing the room but turned his head when he heard the alluring question and looked at the flustered Lin Ya. He smiled and said, "Anything is fine, I’ll drink whatever you have."
After a brief moment of thought, Lin Ya quickly replied, "Then I’ll pour you some water! I really don’t have much else to offer!"
"Sure!"
Hu Xiaobei replied with a smile!
The next second, Hu Xiaobei lazily continued examining the room.
The room was tidy without too many items...
Rubbing his chin, Hu Xiaobei clicked his tongue and expressed his amazement, "This room is a bit too minimalistic!"
"Simple? I feel like there’s nothing missing!"
With this quiet response, Lin Ya walked over.
Seeing Lin Ya holding a cup, Hu Xiaobei quickly accepted it, sipped, and then pointed to a nearby corner, saying softly, "I feel like there’s a makeup vanity missing there."
Hu Xiaobei truly thought her room lacked a vanity.
Looking at the spot Hu Xiaobei indicated, Lin Ya chuckled lightly, saying, "I don’t feel the need for that!"
Unlike typical girls, Lin Ya spent her days on cultivation, reducing her need for cosmetics significantly.
Upon hearing Lin Ya’s confident response, Hu Xiaobei squinted his eyes, "Your reasoning makes sense!"
After saying this, Hu Xiaobei took another sip.
After completely finishing the cup of water, Hu Xiaobei looked at Lin Ya standing before him and said softly, "Now, shall we get down to business?"
"Business?"
Though somewhat understanding Hu Xiaobei’s intent, Lin Ya feigned confusion as she looked at him.
"Yes, business!"
Gently nodding, Hu Xiaobei directly grabbed her soft hand again.
"Ah!"
