Chapter 30: Chapter 30

Finn’s POV

I watched them leave.

Kael’s hand on her back. Aria’s head held high. The two of them walking away like they owned the world.

Like I didn’t exist.

My chest burned. Something ugly twisted inside me. Something I didn’t want to name.

The black sports car disappeared around the corner. The engine’s roar faded into nothing.

Gone.

She was gone.

"Daddy?"

Lilith’s voice pulled me back. She was tugging at my sleeve. Her face was still tear-streaked. Still red from crying.

"Daddy, that mean man is gone now." She sniffled. Wiped her nose with her hand. "He was so scary. Why did he yell at me?"

I looked down at my daughter. Those silver eyes. Aria’s eyes.

Something snapped.

"Because you deserved it."

The words came out cold. Harsh. Before I could stop them.

Lilith froze. Her mouth fell open.

"W-what?"

"You heard me." I yanked my arm away from her grip. "Standing there crying about perfume and toys. Making a scene in front of everyone. Do you have any idea how embarrassing that was?"

Her lower lip trembled. "But Daddy—"

"Don’t ’but Daddy’ me!" My voice rose. Heads turned. I didn’t care. "You’re a Nightfang! Act like it!"

Lilith burst into fresh tears. Loud. Wailing. The kind of crying that made my head pound.

"Finn!" Celestia rushed forward. Her hand landed on my arm. Gentle. Soothing. "She’s just a child. She doesn’t understand—"

"And you!" I spun on her. Saw her eyes go wide. Saw the fear flash across her face. "You were supposed to handle this! You said you could manage her! You said everything would be fine!"

"I tried—"

"You tried?" I laughed. The sound was ugly. "You tried, and now everyone in this garden knows my wife left me for the Blood Crown heir. Everyone saw me standing there like a fool while fucking Kael defended her!"

Celestia’s face crumpled. Tears welled in her blue eyes.

My hands shook as I pulled out my car keys. My vision blurred. Not from tears. From rage. Pure, burning rage.

How dare she?

How dare Aria show up here looking like that? That dress. That makeup. That confidence I’d never seen before.

She was supposed to be broken. Defeated. Crawling back to beg for forgiveness.

Instead, she’d stood there like a queen. Called out my lies in front of everyone. Made me look like the villain.

And then he showed up.

Chapter 30 1

Even from here, I could see the way he looked at her. The way his hand lingered on her back. The way she smiled up at him— 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
