Chapter 365: Leaving For Vacation

Jasonโ€™s POV

"Raven, come to Mommy," she called softly.

He hurried over and climbed onto the sofa to sit beside her.

"We can watch TV here," she told him, pointing toward the lounge screen. Then she gestured toward the dining area. "Then eat food here."

Her finger shifted toward the far end of the caravan. "And then snuggle in bed together."

At the rear stood a wide bed layered with soft cushions and carefully arranged bedding. Light curtains framed the glass windows, giving the space an aesthetic warmth that felt almost like home.

"Will you sleep with Mommy?" she asked gently.

Raven nodded at once.

She pulled him into her arms and hugged him tightly, nearly squeezing the breath out of him, but he did not protest. The joy on their faces was simple and pure. Watching them like that, I silently wished they would have all the happiness in the world.

This vacation was surely going to bring mother and son close, the way they should be.

Rafe and Roman entered the caravan just then. Roman carried a small bag in his hand and went to the kitchen area, while Rafe went towards Eira.

Eira noticed them, and finally asked me the question she had avoided earlier.

"Lucian?"

"He is coming," I told her.

She gave a small hum in response. ๐’‡๐’“๐’†๐’†๐™ฌ๐’†๐’ƒ๐“ท๐’๐“ฟ๐™š๐™ก.๐’„๐“ธ๐’Ž

Rafe moved to sit beside her, settling close enough that his arm rested along the back of the sofa behind her. "You should pay attention to the one who is with you instead," he said casually.

She shot him a sharp glare, a clear warning not to speak recklessly while Raven was there.

The bastard had injected enough of that drug into his body to sit there with bold ease, as close to her as he pleased. And I knew he was going to take advantage of that drug entirely before it fades away from his body.

The urge to beat the shit out of him and force that poison out of his veins surged through me. But I swallowed it down. What was done was done.

"Who is driving?" Kael asked.

"Not me," Rafe replied lazily. "I want to be with my girl." He offered a playful smirk, his fingers moving to caress the lose strands of her hair, "right?"

"Whatever," she said and tuned her attention to Raven.

Only if she knew what was going on with Rafe, she would have given him her attention until he could bear to stand it. But he wonโ€™t let anyone of us tell her. He would be furious and that would be truly bad.

"I am driving," I said. "We will leave once Lucian is here."

As if summoned by his name, someone stepped into the caravan.

Lucian.

He was dressed and composed, freshly changed, yet the exhaustion from staying up all night was evident in the faint shadows beneath his eyes.

His gaze settling on Eira. "Good morning," his voice hoarse, that showed the fatigue in him.

Relief softened her expression. "You look tired," she observed.

"Itโ€™s nothing. Donโ€™t worry," he replied lightly before his gaze met with Rafe.

Just a silent stare.

Lucian broke the gaze and turned to Kael. "We can leave. Everything is set."

He had already spoken with the security in charge before stepping inside.

"You should rest," Kael told him, patting his shoulder. "Donโ€™t overdo it."

Kael was always observant. He noticed everything, yet he chose not to interfere unless it became absolutely necessary.

Lucian gave a faint hum in response and moved to sit in the passenger seat of the driverโ€™s cabin. I followed and took my place behind the wheel.

I glanced at him. "You should rest in bed."

"I am fine here," he said, closing his eyes.
