Chapter 389: Eira And Alpha Gerald

Eira’s POV

It felt good to be with my brother, more like having a friend.

He was the only man, apart from my father, who did not look at me the way other males did. Even my mates, shameless creatures that they were, could turn any conversation into a confession of how horny they became at the mere sight of me.

With Evan, there was none of that. Only warmth of the blood we share. Having blood relatives was truly a blessing.

After my dance with Evan, Luna Iris guided me through the grand hall, introducing me to members of the royal family and their extended kin. Heads turned as we passed. Conversations quieted. Curious gazes followed us.

They must be wondering why the royal family was paying me such special attention.

"Is there truly a need for this?" I asked quietly as I walked beside her, keeping my smile in place for those watching.

"Of course there is," she replied gently. "You are the Luna of the most promising pack and Alphas of our generation. You must know the important people in our world. And you must know our relatives as well, for the day when everyone will learn that you are my daughter."

Her words made my heart tighten.

"If you had not been taken away, you would have grown up knowing all of them. You would have learned everything naturally. But it is never too late. I can see how capable you are. You can become an even greater Luna than I ever was."

The same unwavering confidence Evan had shown me now shone in my mother’s eyes.

Did they truly believe in me? Or were they only trying to encourage me?

She introduced me to shewolves of all ages. The older ones carried authority in their posture, their power evident in the way others deferred to them. The younger ones stood with pride, their futures already secured by lineage and alliances with powerful alphas and packs.

I was startled to see several young pureblood shewolves among them.

Weren’t purebloods supposed to be rare?

They were indeed rare as nearly all of them belonged to prestigious families and bloodlines, guarded carefully, their value understood from the moment they were born. They would never be handed over to just anyone.

Unless they had been stolen. Like me. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

The thought sent a chill through me. If my baby is a girl, I will have to protect her with everything I had.

But at the same time, something confused me. If pureblood shewolves existed within these influential families, then why had Kael never chosen one of them? Surely any of these houses would have gladly offered their daughter to him. An alliance with Kael would have been an honor.

I had always believed he accepted me into his home despite hating me, because there had been no other pureblood available. That he had to settled with the one he hated the most.

He had no compulsion to accept me in his home, right? Then why?

I swallowed slowly, my gaze drifting toward where Kael stood across the hall, his gaze still following me.

I needed to ask him.

While I was grappled in my thoughts, and Luna Iris was talking to others, I heard a few unpleasant whispers from the other shewolves, a group mix of pure and hybrids.

"I heard she had been whoring around for many years. I wonder what Alpha Kael and his brothers saw in her."

"The other four are the same as if enchanted by her. She sure has learnt some skills from brothel to lure the men."

"I wonder what kind of a bloodline she even belongs, or have none at all. A filthy one?"

"Look at that child. He is said to be Alpha Kael’s. She birthed him in brothel or some dirty place."

"She clearly tainted Valemonte high family’s bloodline by mixing her filthy one with it and birthed this child. Such a shame."

My son is not a filth, nor his mother.
