Chapter 394: Finally Happy

Eira’s POV

It was our last day at the HollowCrest pack.

The event was over, and the purpose of my visit had been fulfilled. I had found my family. My roots.

While Kael and Alpha Gerald spoke, I caught fragments of their conversation. RavenClaw pack. That bastard Asher. A witch. A vampire.

They were discussing threats. Planning how to deal with them. How to end what was coming.

I trusted Kael. And now, I found myself trusting Alpha Gerald as well. Together, they would come up with something effective.

Meanwhile, I stayed with Luna Iris.

As my elder, she guided me through everything related to my pregnancy. Her advice was practical, experienced, and comforting.

She had been through it twice herself.

She had even arranged meals for me, carefully chosen and prepared. Just in short time we spent together, she had already understood my pallets. The food here was different from what I had grown up eating, yet it never felt unfamiliar.

Now I understood why. I was born here. I belonged here. This place had always been a part of me.

Raven sat beside me as I ate, with Luna Iris accompanying us.

"I used to eat this a lot when I was pregnant with you," she said, watching me with a soft smile.

"No wonder I like it so much," I replied, taking another bite. The dessert was made from a sweet and slightly sour fruit that grew only in this pack. It was unlike anything I had tasted before, yet it felt... right.

"Have you checked whether the baby is a boy or a girl?" she asked.

I shook my head. "We want it to be a surprise."

"That is good," she said. "Boy or girl, it does not matter. But with two pureblood children, you need to be extra careful."

I nodded lightly. "I trust my mates."

"I did not mean to scare you. It is just that..."

"I understand," I said, my voice steady. "I lost Raven once. I will not let that happen again. And this time, anyone who tries to harm my children will not live to take another breath."

Her gaze softened. "Having strong mates is important for you. I am glad you are in safe hands. Also, your father and I are with you this time to protect your kids."

I gave her a small nod.

Now I truly understood it.

There was a reason the Moon Goddess had given me multiple mates. I might not care about my own life, but my children needed them.

As I continued eating, Luna Iris spoke again. "Giving birth to a daughter is more difficult than a son."

I looked up at her.

"In case this child is a girl, I wanted you to be prepared."

"Difficult... how?" I asked.

"The labor is longer," she said gently. "More painful. It feels as if you are standing at the edge of death itself."

Well, that wasn’t an issue. I had been to hells door more times than I could count. If there’s no pain in my life, I might feel I am dead

"But when you finally see your child," she added, a faint smile touching her lips, "every bit of that pain feels worth it."

I hummed softly as she continued, "When I gave birth to you, your father was more frightened than I was. He said we would never have another child. He thought he was going to lose me. Even I felt the same. All I wanted was to see my child’s face before I die," she added with calm, "Giving birth to someone rare... it is no less than bringing a divine power into the world."
