As the door clicked shut, Yvonne had already pushed Bennett away.
Her cheeks were flushed with embarrassment. Bennett, however, sat up slowly, looking completely unfazed.
A man who could face a landslide without flinching wasn't going to be rattled by a junior assistant. Only Yvonne could truly affect his emotions.
"I have an early shoot tomorrow, so I need to get some rest. You should go home," Yvonne told Bennett.
"Alright," Bennett agreed. He got up from the bed but didn't leave immediately. Instead, he pulled Yvonne into his arms, gave her a firm kiss, and then walked out.
When Bennett left the bedroom, the assistant was holding a box, ready to leave. It was filled with items that might spark controversy; today's netizens were hypercritical, and public figures had to be extremely careful.
"Mr. Bennett Thompson." Seeing Bennett in person, the assistant was so nervous she could barely speak.
"Hello," Bennett said. He wasn't smiling, but he was approachable.
"Aren't you staying with Yvonne?" the assistant asked.
"She has a shoot tomorrow and needs to rest early. I don't want to disturb her." Bennett was already at the doorway. Out of politeness, he asked, "Where are you headed? I can have my driver take you."
"No, no, that's okay! I drove here. Please don't trouble yourself," the assistant said, waving her hands.
Bennett had only asked out of courtesy. If she had actually dared to get into Mr. Thompson's car, she would have been incredibly tactless.
Bennett said no more and left, closing the door behind him.
After Bennett and the assistant left, Yvonne took a shower and went to bed early.
She slept fairly well, only to be woken up early the next morning.
Her assistant arrived with a team of makeup artists.
Now, Yvonne was seen as a shining hero, while Luna was a pariah.
"Yvonne!" Shirley greeted her warmly, pulling her into the seat beside her.
The two young women sat together, chattering away about the latest industry gossip.
Cynthia, the famous author and screenwriter, had just returned to the country, and investors were already flocking to her. Countless actors were vying for a role, and Shirley's agent was pulling strings, hoping to get on the Scott family's good side.
Besides the Scotts, there was also news about the Taylor family.
Thomas, who was currently filming a historical drama, was rumored to be involved with the actress playing the second female lead.
The paparazzi had snapped photos of them dining together, laughing on set, and entering a hotel late at night on more than one occasion.
