Chapter 17 The Iron Dragon Awakens

“Am I seeing things?”

“He’s really awake…”

“It’s a miracle…”

Shouts of astonishment echoed one after another. Everyone stood frozen, eyes wide.

No one had expected the Iron Dragon-already declared dead-to come back to life in such a miraculous way.

“Grandpa!” Sylvie dashed into the Iron Dragon’s arms, tears of joy streaming down her face.

The Iron Dragon looked dazed, still trying to process. “I was dead, wasn’t I? How…”

“Mr. Norwood saved you! He didn’t just bring you back, but he cured my frost poison too!”

Sylvie’s words fell over the crowd like a sudden hush. All eyes snapped toward Evan.

In that instant, the disdain and anger that had colored their gazes vanished, replaced by awe.

No one had expected the Iron Dragon to awaken like this.

“Young man, you saved both of us?” The Iron Dragon’s eyes locked onto Evan, and then he burst into laughter. “Excellent! A true hero in the making. Thanks to you, my life wasn’t meant to end yet!”

Jealous admiration flickered in the eyes of everyone watching Evan.

They all understood what this meant. He was about to rise fast. He had just saved the life of the Iron Dragon of South Dominion.

Even Victor Stanton, Aria’s stoic senior who usually never showed emotion, muttered under his breath, “This guy is incredible…

Aria couldn’t help smirking. “Of course he’s incredible. He’s about to soar.”

“That’s not the point.” Victor shook his head, his expression serious. “Aria, didn’t you notice? What he just did to the Iron Dragon was precise strikes to his pressure points.”

“No wonder I felt something was off…” Aria’s face showed genuine surprise as Victor explained it.

“It’s like a form of electrotherapy, an external stimulus, but he did it all with his bare hands…” Victor trailed oft, eyes wide with shock. “In short, he not only knows the body’s pressure points like the back of his hand, but he might also be a hidden martial arts expert!”

Hearing such high praise from Victor left Aria momentarily speechless.

Victor muttered, “This is talent. We can’t let him slip away.”

“Wait, Victor… You’re going to recruit him?” Aria’s voice was full of surprise

Victor said nothing, his gaze lingering thoughtfully on Evan

“Iron Dragon, you may be awake, but your condition hasn’t improved Today, I only pulled you back from the brink of death, Evan said calmly, his words sending another shockwave through the crowd

“What? His condition hasn’t improved?” Aria’s hand instinctively twitched at the knife she held

Had Evan forgotten the warning she’d given him earlier?

Sylvie’s face went pale once again.

It turned out Evan had only revived her grandfather his illness itself hadn’t improved. Her grandfather was still in danger

“Dad, I knew it. This kid has no real healing ability. As for waking you up, who knows what dumb luck he stumbled onto?”

William was the happiest of all.

The Iron Dragon’s death would have been perfect for him. He was supposed to be gone for good, and yet Evan had somehow brought him back.
