Chapter 51 The Donor No One Can Find

Hazel stomped her foot in panic as the mysterious donor came to her mind.

“Still nothing.” Roxanne shook her head. “It doesn’t matter how hard our people search for him. We couldn’t find him.”

‘Boom!’

Hazel’s face went white. Aside from Evan, that mysterious donor was Zeke’s only hope of staying alive. Yet, they couldn’t find him anywhere.

“Stop chasing some imaginary blood donor. We don’t even know what he looks like-how are you supposed to find him? Go look for Evan!”

Zeke’s pained shout hit them like a hammer, making both Hazel and Roxanne’s hearts sink. He was right, as finding Evan was the fastest and safest option.

“But Hazel… isn’t it a bad time for us to approach Evan right now?” Roxanne asked hesitantly.

Recently, Hazel had signed the divorce application to pressure Evan. That wasn’t just for show. Once it was signed, it carried legal weight.

Even though they could withdraw it within a month, this period was supposed to be when they stood their ground and forced Evan to bend.

If they went looking for him, it would imply that they couldn’t live without him. When that happened, the whole divorce tactic would lose its bite. Once it did, Evan would only push back harder.

“And it’s already been several days, but Evan hasn’t made any moves.” Roxanne glanced at the calendar by the door. Hazel had drawn bright circles around specific dates.

They had assumed that Evan would have shown up within three days, unable to stand the silent standoff. It was now the fifth day, but he still hadn’t made a move. Roxanne had been trying to keep herself from thinking that one thought—what if Evan genuinely wanted to divorce Hazel?

“Ahhhh-pfft!”

Zeke suddenly let out another agonized scream and then coughed up a mouthful of dark blood, staining the sheets.

“It hurts! Hazel, Roxanne, stop hesitating! Get Evan! I’m dying!” His desperate cries tore through the room.

Hazel and Roxanne immediately started panicking.

“We have no choice! Get Evan!” Hazel said, looking at Roxanne. “I’m sure he already gets my point, but there’s still a long way to go before the month is up. He’s probably waiting for us to approach him.”

“But… are we really going to give him the upper hand?” Roxanne looked torn.

“I’ll swallow my pride for Zeke’s sake.”

Hazel’s voice wasn’t loud, but Roxanne could feel her determination. Even though she understood she was only caving to get Evan to donate his blood, she still found it unbelievable.

This had never happened before! After all, the three of them had never lowered their heads to Evan. It just wasn’t done.

“Of course, we can’t put all our hope on Evan alone. I’ll find him. Roxanne, you keep searching for that donor.

“Tell her to look into the doctor who saved the Iron Dragon of South Dominion. We move on all three froms.”

“Got it,” Roxanne said immediately.

Hazel truly lived up to her reputation as Silverton’s iron-willed businesswoman as she was able to think clearly even in the face of a crisis.
