Chapter 229 I Will Be Safe
His voice was like velvet dipped in honey, wrapping around Emma’s senses. “But the dew… You can have as much as you want…”
Silas had been wanting this for a long time.
He’d barely held back the previous times, but he’d been careful not to push things, mindful that Emma hadn’t yet bonded with any of them.
At most, he’d allowed himself to feel the warmth of her palm.
It was different now.
Silas guided Emma’s hand and slid it beneath his garment…
As Emma’s fingers began to explore, Silas suddenly let out a muffled groan, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he pressed her hand in tighter. “Go easy, Emy… When I’m in bloom, this spot is…”
Emma’s ears were completely flushed. Dew, she thought. This is clearly…
The room was filled with a pervasive, heady floral scent.
The dew was collected again and again…
If they hadn’t been running out of time, Silas would have continued. He clearly wasn’t afraid of draining himself.
Silas glanced at the time and reluctantly kissed Emma on the face. “Emy, Lucien and I have already discussed this. If we have to be gone for a long time, you don’t need to wait for us. Go ahead and bond with Marcus first.”
He still felt a deep unease over Marcus‘ ability going out of control last time. He worried that if he and Lucien left, Marcus might lose control again and end up hurting Emma.
If Emma could bond with Marcus sooner, she could fully calm him down and ensure his ability would never spiral out of control again.
Silas knew she wanted to be fair to all of them. Everything she promised them, Emma would try her best to deliver.
He whispered in Emma’s ear, “Emy, I don’t care if I’m the first or the last. I just need you to be

safe and sound. I need you here waiting for me when I come home.”
Emma gripped his lips with a fierce kiss. “I will be safe. And you two must be safe. I’ll be home, waiting for you to come back.”
The sky outside had already darkened.
When Lucien returned, she was just stepping out of Silas‘ room.
Upon seeing her, Lucien immediately ran over and hugged her tight. “Emma, did Silas tell you about everything?”
Emma nodded. “He told me.” She looked earnestly into Lucien’s eyes. “I will be fine here, waiting for you both to return. You absolutely must come back safe and sound.”
“Don’t worry.
I’m already Rank 11. I definitely won’t be as useless as I was before.” The Coalball incident was the biggest embarrassment of his life. “I’ll protect myself, and I’ll protect Silas.”
“I know you
will.”
Emma kissed Lucien firmly on the cheek. “Do you need to pack? I’ll go get some things ready for you two as well. Wait for me.”
With that, she hurried back to her own room.
She retrieved the petals Silas had given her. Although she had wanted Silas to take them since he needed them more on the battlefield, he refused.
So, Emma kept them.
She kept a few petals for herself and divided the rest into two portions, one for Silas and one for Lucien. Then, she added healing potions, beast cores, and nutrient fluid.
She prepared a bit of everything the manor had, especially the beast cores.
Emma packed a generous supply for both of them, placing the items into two separate storage bands.
Holding the bands, she went to find Lucien and Silas.
The two men were in Lucien’s study, discussing something.
When Emma walked in, Silas smiled and took the storage band she offered him, then told

Lucien, “I’ll wait for you outside. Hurry up!”
As soon as Silas was gone, Lucien rushed over, wrapped Emma in his arms, and kissed her fiercely.
He couldn’t bear to leave her. “Emma, I don’t want to leave you!”
Emma felt the same way. She wrapped her arms around Lucien’s neck and kissed him back passionately. “I don’t want you to leave either.”
Lucien only broke the kiss after a long, intense moment, letting go of her reluctantly. If he could, he truly wished to become her true mate right now. “I wish I could just sneak you away and keep you by my side every minute.”
However, the battlefield was too dangerous. He couldn’t let Emma take the slightest risk.
Emma pressed her forehead against his and smiled. “If Silas and Marcus heard you say that, they’d probably beat you up!”
Not even being the first mate would grant him that privilege.
Lucien laughed softly, giving her lip a gentle nip. “I’ll work hard to get even stronger so they can’t beat me.” Any complaints they have, they can keep to themselves.
Due to the limited time, even though Lucien hated to stop, he had to let her go. He carefully gave Emma several final instructions, all about her personal safety.
He even added one more thing–she should proceed and bond with Marcus.
Emma knew they worried about her, so she listened patiently to everything.
When the time was up, Lucien immediately released her. “Emma, wait for me to return.”
When I come back, we will bond!
Standing on the wide lawn of the manor, she watched Lucien and Silas board the warship, waving with all her strength as they departed.
