Chapter 310 Orders and Affection
Marcus replied, ‘Same here!‘
Lucien paused, deep in thought. ‘Alright, then let me handle the arrangements.‘

‘This time, we’ll go by the order we appeared around Emma. Edric goes tonight, Corvin tomorrow, Silas the day after, I’m fourth, Marcus fifth. This schedule is just for these five days. Once we’re back, I’ll rearrange it.’
Corvin immediately responded, ‘Agreed, agreed!
Finally, he wasn’t last.
Silas‘ replies appeared nonchalant as usual. ‘Mm.‘
‘Okay,‘ replied Edric.
Marcus, too, had no objections.
Seeing that everyone was in agreement, Lucien informed Emma of the plan.
Emma smiled. “You always organize things so well. If we drew lots again, Corvin would probably burst into tears.”
Lucien perched on the bed in Emma’s lounge, resting his head on her shoulder.
“Corvin’s all about his mechs. He doesn’t think much about this kind of stuff.”
He was brilliant, sure, but all that brilliance went into mechs and warships.
Lucien’s phoenix–like bright eyes met hers. “Emma, once we’re back, I want to reshuffle. I’m biased. I want to bond with you first.”
He didn’t want to wait any longer. He wanted them to bond as soon as they returned.
“Okay.” Emma laughed, pressing a kiss to his cheek. “When we get back, I’ll bond with you first.”
Out of all her mates, only Lucien was yet to bond. Emma knew he was anxious.
With her answer, Lucien’s face lit up in a grin. Truth was, he wasn’t nearly as magnanimous as he’d pretended.
“Emma, I have another request.” He took her hand, resting his forehead against hers. “I want

the gift you gave Corvin.”

Lucien had arrived late and didn’t know that the gift wasn’t for Corvin. It had been for Silas.
“The gift for Corvin?” Emma blinked, then realized what he meant. “You mean the wooden carving I made?”
Lucien nodded. “Yeah. That one.”
It was handmade by Emma herself. He wanted one, too.
“That wasn’t for Corvin. It was for Silas.” Emma smiled. “I knew you’d want one. Don’t worry. Once we’re back, I’ll buy lumber and make one for each of you.”
So she’d already planned it.
Lucien kissed her deeply.
“I knew it. My Emma’s the best.”
After a moment, he let her go. It wasn’t his night to spend with Emma, and he couldn’t hog Edric’s time.
“Emma, I’ll
get back to work. Edric should be waiting outside.”
Lucien opened the lounge door. Edric stood there, and beside him, Drake lingered.
“What’s going on?” Lucien looked at Drake, then asked Edric.
Edric sighed helplessly. “He insists on standing guard by Emma.”
He’d already told Drake to rest in his own room. When the time came, Emma would provide mental comfort to him. But Drake wouldn’t listen.
“You
go in and keep Emma company.” Lucien stepped aside, letting Edric enter.
Emma heard the voices outside but didn’t emerge. It was a small matter–she trusted Lucien to
handle it.
Before Edric stepped in, she messaged Malrik, telling him to wait for her at the manor if he returned. She’d be back in five days.
Outside, Lucien said to Drake, “Let’s talk over there. You don’t want to make things hard for Emma, make her hate you more, right?”

Drake glanced at the closed door and nodded.

Corvin, preparing lunch with Kieran, watched Drake follow Lucien into the conference room.
No one knew what Lucien said there.
Ten minutes later, Drake emerged quietly and returned to his room, never to reappear.
Corvin stared in astonishment. Of course it was Lucien who could keep Drake in line. He’d better never cross Lucien.
Lucien stepped out of the conference room and caught Corvin staring. “Corvin, why are you looking at me like that? Need help with lunch?”
“No, no, no!” Corvin shook his head frantically. Today, he and Kieran cooked. Tomorrow, it will be Lucien’s turn.
The five days passed in a flash.
Emma returned to the Central Planet. She’d barely stepped off the starrail when she saw Aria waiting outside.
“Emma, you’re finally back!”
Aria had spotted Emma descending the starrail. She ran over and hugged her tightly. “I missed you like crazy! Did you miss me?”
Emma held her hand. “Of course. I went to the Aquadome this time and brought you tons of gifts.”
She had gotten gifts for Aria, Quaan Amara, and Laura alike.
“I knew it. You’re the best,” Aria said, looping her arm through Emma’s, unwilling to let
