Spoiled By My Nine Beast Husbands (Emma Tibarn) novel Chapter 415

**When She Opened the Door to the Life She Was Afraid to Live by Nora Vale Kingsley 415**
**Chapter 415 Did You Miss Me?**

“I thought maybe… just maybe I could hasten things along a bit if I used a pinch of my ability. You know, to make it burn quicker…” Calum’s voice trailed off, barely a whisper as he hung his head in embarrassment, his cheeks flushed with shame.

He had been so meticulous this time, so careful!

Just a minuscule amount of his ability had been used to ignite the fuel.

Yet, despite his caution, the outcome had been catastrophic.

How could this have happened? Kieran had performed the same task flawlessly, and yet here he was, standing amidst the wreckage of his own failure.

Why had it gone so terribly wrong when he was the one in charge?

Lucien’s expression contorted in disbelief as he processed Calum’s explanation.

He inhaled sharply, a growl of frustration escaping his lips as he clenched his teeth. “Marshal, are you seriously using Kieran as a benchmark?”

The incredulity in his voice was palpable.

How could Calum, of all people, have made such a reckless mistake?

Had he completely forgotten his own Rank? Or Kieran’s?

How could Calum be so utterly clueless?

A bead of sweat trickled down Lucien’s forehead as he glared at Calum, his patience wearing thin. He was exhausted by Calum’s antics.

Calum was acutely aware that he had messed up. He didn’t dare to argue or offer any flimsy excuses in his defense.

Emma, having rushed over upon hearing the commotion, gently squeezed Lucien’s drenched hand when she noticed the storm brewing in his eyes.

“Lucien, please take a breath. Calum can barely tell the difference between a spatula and a frying pan when it comes to cooking. He didn’t mean for this to happen. Besides, you should clean up; you look like you just emerged from a war zone,” she said, her voice soothing yet firm.

Emma had anticipated some minor mishaps with Calum at the grill, but she never imagined he would manage to turn it into a full-blown explosion.

Thank the Beast God he hadn’t brought the entire house down with his reckless antics.

Turning her attention to the guilt-ridden Calum, she instructed, “Calum, you should head to your room and wash up as well.”

With a sweep of her gaze across the chaotic scene, she continued, “The rest of you can handle the cleanup. Silas, there’s another grill in the garage. We can use that one instead.”

She had never envisioned that preparing a simple meal would spiral into such chaos.

With that, Emma guided Lucien back to the room, leading him into the bathroom.

She twisted the faucet, allowing the water to cascade down, before carefully peeling away the charred remnants of Lucien’s shirt.

What remained of his once pristine white shirt was now a sodden, soot-covered mess, clinging to his lean yet muscular frame.

As her fingers brushed against the button on his chest, Lucien’s hand suddenly closed around her wrist, halting her movements.

“Emma,” he murmured softly, his gaze locking onto hers with an intensity that sent shivers down her spine.

“Yes?”

Emma instinctively tilted her head, confusion flickering in her eyes. “What’s wrong?”

“I can manage this myself,” he replied, releasing her wrist and beginning to unbutton his shirt.

He moved with a deliberate slowness, each button unfastened revealing more of his sculpted collarbones.

Steam enveloped the bathroom, fogging the mirror and obscuring the tumult of emotions swirling in his eyes.

Emma bit her lip, captivated by the sight before her.

“If you’re going to kiss me, Emma, how could you possibly leave after just one?”

His thumb brushed against her waist, caressing her gently.

“Emma, won’t you grant me more kisses?”

Earlier, Lucien had been consumed by jealousy at the sight of Marcus shamelessly asking for a reward.

The ticklish sensation of his touch made her instinctively shift away from his hand.

“You should probably take a shower first,” Emma suggested, trying to regain some semblance of composure.

He glanced down at his bare chest before returning his gaze to her, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips. “I’ve already rinsed off.”

In a sudden movement, he lifted her effortlessly and placed her on the bathroom counter.

“Did you miss me while I was away, Emma?”

She met his gaze, her heart swelling with warmth as she nodded earnestly, seeing the hope sparkling in his eyes. “Yes. Very much.”

Thoughts of him had occupied her mind every single day he was gone; her concern for him had been ever-present.

His eyes ignited with joy, a fire that threatened to consume her with its intensity.

She hadn’t just been thinking of Marcus; her thoughts had been filled with him, too!

“Emma…” he murmured, framing her arms with his as she perched on the counter. “I missed you just as much.”

Then, he leaned down, brushing his nose affectionately against hers, his warm breath dancing across her lips.

“Every single day and night.”
