“I’m a little hungry. Let’s go have lunch”
After saying that, Emma sent a message to Marcus on her lightcore, telling him to come downstairs for lunch.
That guy is still tied up on my bed. If I don’t message hin, he’s definitely not coming down on his own.
Once she’d sent that, Emma messaged Corvin as well, asking whether Remy had woken up yet. If Remy was awake, Corvin could bring him down, too,
Corvin replied quickly, ‘Emma, Remy woke up for a bit earlier, but he’s asleep again now. You guys go ahead and eat first. I’ll come down later just save me some
Silas wasn’t around, so Remy had been left in Corvin’s care.
The castle did have a patrol unit, but none of them knew how to look after cubs. Handing a baby over to them made everyone uneasy.
Emma replied to him, ‘Alright. I’ll set some food aside and bring it up to you later.
Emma had just left the living room with Malrik when she spotted Silas returning from outside.
“Silas? Why are you back already? It’s only midday,”
She was genuinely surprised.
Hadn’t he said he’d be swamped today? Why was he suddenly back?
Silas walked over and took her hand. “I brought back two males from the Crescent Vine clan. From now on, they’ll take care of Remy.”
He’d been overwhelmed with work lately and couldn’t personally look after Remy for a while. But relying on family nonstop wasn’t fair either it took up too much of everyone’s time.
Emma followed his gaze and saw two men who looked to be in their fifties.
The two Crescent Vine males smiled politely when they noticed her looking at them.
Silas explained softly, “They’re sort of half family to me. Completely trustworthy. They’re very experienced with cubs. Leaving Remy with them won’t be a problem.”
Emma nodded.
When it came to Silas, she trusted his judgment completely.
“We’re about to have lunch. Do you want to cat first before going back to work?” she asked.
Silas thought for a moment, then nodded.
“I’ll get them settled with Remy first. Then I’ll come down and cat with you.”
He was going to be very busy for a while. He probably didn’t get many chances to sit down and eat with her.
Outside the castle, Lily followed Dahlia away and couldn’t help glancing back with envy.
“Emma really has it all. So many high–tier mates with powerful backgrounds, and she gets to live in a castle this beautiful.”
The jealousy burned.
Dahlia looked back at the castle as well. “It is beautiful.”
At first, she’d only been interested in the men around Emma–Lucien and Drake in particular.
But ever since Calum appeared, her interest had shifted.
Now she was curious about Emma herself.
What makes her so special?Special enough that even the Beast God paired Calum with her?
Lily pulled her gaze away, clearly annoyed.
“Today was awful. Malrik upset me so badly, and I didn’t even get to see Lucien.”
She hadn’t seen him in ages.
Lily grabbed Dahlia’s hand and began to pout. “Dahlia, I really miss Lucien. I want to see him. Please help me, okay?”
Dahlia didn’t want to help her. “We’re picking up Emma tomorrow. Lucien might come along. You can see him then.”
“But what if he’s not there tomorrow?” Lily pleaded.
“Dahlia, I know the mate you just bonded with is a high–ranking military official. Let me go with you to see him. That way, I can see Lucien too.”
She leaned in, voice syrupy. “Please… Dahlia…”
Dahlia was worn out.
She checked the time on her lightcore and finally nodded. “There’s still some time. I’ll take you there once.”
“Dahlia, I knew you were the best!” Lily was practically glowing.
I’ll get to see Lucien soon. She was so excited she could laugh out loud.
Dahlia’s airship lifted off from the castle and headed straight for the Empire’s military headquarters.
Back inside the castle.
After Silas finished settling the two clan members with Remy, he headed downstairs and immediately saw a message on his lightcore.
Dahlia and Lily had left the castle and were heading to the military.
Silas paused, then sent a message to Lucien. ‘Dahlia brought Lily to the castle earlier. They’re heading to the military now–probably for you.
Dahlia had just bonded with a high–ranking military official. With his escort, she could enter non–classified areas of the military freely. Seeing Lucien wouldn’t be difficult at all.
Lucien had just finished a meeting.
When he returned to his office and saw Silas‘ message, he smiled faintly.
He didn’t take Dahlia or Lily seriously, but those two women had just handed him a very convenient excuse.
Lucien replied quickly, ‘Got it.‘
Then he opened his chat window with Emma.
