“When you saw him, he acted perfectly fine in front of you. He must have used some kind of method to hide it.”
Alaric hadn’t expected this–Drake wasn’t just a stubborn dragon, he was an incredibly stubborn one.
Emma suddenly stood up, anger written all over her face. “I understand now. If what you said is true, then he was lying to me today.”
She looked at Alaric. “Now that the True Dragon Blood is inside me, can it be taken out and returned to Drake?*
Since Drake didn’t want to form a bond with her, she absolutely could not keep something that was tied to his life.
Alaric shook his head. “Once the blood entered your body, it fused with your own blood. It can’t be extracted. The only thing you can do is return the energy contained in the True Dragon Blood to Drake.”
“And there’s only one way to do that. You have to form a bond with him,” he added.
Emma took a deep breath and immediately strode toward the door. Seeing how furious she looked, Alaric quickly followed.
“Emma, don’t be angry. That dragon’s probably overthinking things. We don’t need to get upset over such a stubborn dragon.”
“I’m not angry,” she said through clenched teeth. “I’m going to find him right now. This time, I’m going to ask him properly why he did this.”
After leaving Alaric’s room, Emma asked Lucien to prepare a warship for her. She told him about the True Dragon Blood.
“True Dragon Blood?” He actually laughed in irritation. That dragon really was something.
“I’ll get things ready. We’ll depart in ten minutes.”
Emma nodded, then went to find Kieran. There was no way she could form a bond with Kieran tonight, so she had to tell him.
When Emma returned to her room, she saw Kieran lying on the couch, still wearing the same clothes.
As soon as he saw her, he raised his hand. A stream of water instantly wrapped around her body and carried her into his arms.
Meeting his smiling eyes, Emma spoke with a hint of guilt. “Kieran, we’ll have to postpone forming our bond.”
Kieran raised an eyebrow. “I can agree to that, but you’ll have to compensate me,” he said jokingly.
‘What kind of compensation do you want?” Emma asked at once.
Kieran reached out and gently touched her cheek. “I haven’t decided yet. I’ll tell you when I’ve thought of something.”
‘Alright.” Emma nodded. “No matter what compensation you ask for, I’ll agree to it now. When you’ve decided, just tell me.”
Kieran kissed her on the forehead. “You’re agreeing so easily. Aren’t you afraid the compensation I ask for might put you in a difficult position?”
Emma smiled. “Of course not. I promised to form a bond with you tonight, and I didn’t follow through. Didn’t that disappoint you?”
Kieran held her and sat up, then kissed her firmly on the lips. “When you’re like this, I almost don’t want to let you go find that

stubborn dragon.”
At the mention of Drake, Emma suddenly grabbed his collar. “Did you already know Drake gave me his True Dragon Blood?”
He was so capable–he must have noticed earlier, right? These therians were all more scheming than the last. If they weren’t her partners, Emma wouldn’t even dare talk to them.
With her intelligence, if they sold her off, she’d probably still help count the money and think they were good people.
In particular, Kieran was great at hiding his feelings.
“Absolutely not.” He then explained calmly, “I only realized it after Alaric came back and said he wanted to examine you.”
So that was how it was. Emma smiled and lightly patted his chest.
“Then, I’ve misunderstood you.” She stood up from Kieran’s arms. “It’s about time. Let’s go find Drake.”
