Chapter 702 Testing Jim’s Limits
Chapter 702 Testing Jim’s Limits
Emma sensed the change. She was just about to open her eyes when a strange scent drifted into her nose.
In the next second, she fell asleep again.
Gaellard watched Jim leave.
Less than a minute later, Jim returned carrying Emma, wrapped tightly in a blanket.
Gaellard’s eyes lit up right away.
“Jim, I knew you could do it.” He reached out as soon as he saw Emma in Jim’s arms. “I’ll carry her.”
Jim didn’t move.
In the next second, his figure vanished from the spot.
Gaellard froze in place. This guy actually ran off while holding her? How could that work?
He immediately chased after Jim.

Inside the castle, Edric finished washing up quickly. He walked out of the bathroom and noticed that Emma was no longer in bed.
dropped.
about to open his lightcore to call Kieran.
that moment, the door to Emma’s bedroom was pushed open from the outside.
Kieran walked in.
The moment Edric saw him, he spoke right away. “Kieran, Emma is gone. It’s Jing.”
As soon as he entered the room, he smelled Jim’s scent. “I’m going after him,” Kieran replied calmly.
After saying that, he disappeared from the spot in an instant.
Edric didn’t have powers that strong, so he couldn’t chase with Kieran. He stood in the bedroom and immediately told the others. that Emma was missing.
Out in the outer region on Duskora, Emma slept in a daze. She felt the wind brushing across her face.
She slowly opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was a stretch of silver–white beach. The sound of the sea breeze filled her ears. She could also hear waves crashing nearby.
She was lying on a soft bed.

She stared at the ocean in front of her. Her mind went blank for a moment. They really managed to bring me all the way out here just like that? Yet…
Where exactly have they brought me?
She quickly pulled out her lightcore. However, there was no signal.
Is this the outer region?
While Emma was thinking about it, the light in front of her suddenly dimmed. Something dark suddenly appeared in front of her.
She quickly looked up. Her eyes met an incredibly handsome face.
The man wore a well–cut black outfit. The fabric draped smoothly, making his tall frame look lean yet steady, like a quiet tree standing in the dark.
His hair fell loosely over his forehead. A few stray strands brushed against his brow. It didn’t look carefully styled, yet it gave off a clean and effortless feeling.
Emma’s gaze moved to his eyes.
His gaze looked soft and focused. His eyelids drooped slightly, and the corners of his eyes curved gently.
Emma stayed silent for a moment. So, this is what people call puppy eyes?
Jim noticed that she kept staring at him without moving. He pushed the grilled fish in his hand closer to her again.
She looked at the dark lump he was offering. Her body leaned back instinctively. What is that thing?
She didn’t take the fish and looked at him with clear displeasure. “You brought me out here?”
When Jim heard the unhappy tone in Emma’s voice, his hand tightened slightly around the tree branch he was holding.
He didn’t say anything.
Emma lifted the blanket and got out of bed. Her bare feet stepped onto the warm and soft silver sand.
She narrowed her eyes and looked at Jim with annoyance. “You don’t have to answer, but I already know. You must be the one who brought me here. The other Beast God successor, Clarence, already told me–you’re best at taking people away.”
Of course, she had none of that information.
Since she had already been taken here, the only thing she could do now was find something that worked in her favor.
Then, she could figure out a way to deal with Jim.
Kieran had only told her that Jim didn’t like talking. His personality was quiet and dull, like a sealed bottle.
However, he never said where this man’s limits were,
If she wanted to deal with someone, she first had to understand them. She needed to test his limits.

Only then would she know how to handle him.

When Jim heard Emma say that Clarence had already told her he would take her away, he looked down at the grilled fish in his hand and pressed his lips together slightly.
When did Clarence become such a busybody?
Emma noticed he still didn’t speak, so she kept testing him. “Clarence also told me something else. You have an accomplice. Your partner is Gaellard, right?”
After saying that, she looked around but didn’t see Gaellard anywhere. “Where’s Gaellard? Why isn’t he here?”
Did he go to block Kieran and Lucien while they searched for me?
Emma asked the questions, but Jim still didn’t answer.
She looked at him with some frustration. She knew he was quiet, but this was overboard.
She had asked several questions already. Even basic politeness meant he should respond at least once.
She looked at Jim, who was still holding the dark lump of food.
Emma walked a few steps closer. She lifted her chin and stared at him with a sharp expression. “I’m asking you something. Are you mute?”
Her attitude was openly arrogant and rude.
She wanted to know if he responded better to kindness or pressure.
She decided to start with pressure. If that didn’t work, she would switch to a softer approach.
Once she figured out what worked on him, she could decide how to deal with him.
“There is no one else.” Jim looked at Emma’s clearly unhappy face and finally spoke in a low voice. His voice sounded quiet.
“No one else?” Emma’s mind moved quickly. Does that mean Gaellard isn’t here? Have I guessed wrong? Are Jim and Gaellard not working together?
