He zoomed in slightly, examining him more carefully. He’s completely bare from the waist up. Did Drake go upstairs intending to seduce Emma? If this really comes down to charm and allure, how could I possibly lose to him?

Suddenly, Alaric stood up from the couch. “I just remembered something I need to handle. You two continue. I’ll be leaving first.”

Without another word, he grabbed back the healing potions he had just given Silas, turned on his heel, and hurried out.
