Chapter 937 The Fox

Emma, so does this mean you’ve forgiven Drake?

As he spoke, he reached out with a slender, elegant finger and gently caught the edge of Emma’s sleeve, giving it a small, cautious tug, like a child who knew he’d done something wrong.

I know I made a mistake too. Do you think you could forgive me as well?

Emma, just feel thisAlaric took Emma’s hand and pressed it against his own chest. Right here. It’s racing so fast right now.

The moment Emma’s fingers brushed against his warm, delicate skin, her whole body jolted like she’d touched a live wire.

This wasn’t just an Emberfox anymore.

This was a full blown, soul stealing menace of a creature.

No one could possibly hold up against something like this.

If Drake’s contrasting charm had been a precision strike, then Alaric’s current strategy was a full scale carpet bombing.

Drake watched Alaric, and his handsome face, meant to still look pale and weak, darkened instantly.

He never imagined that fox, that shameless creature, would sink this low just to win Emma’s attention.

That neckline had already dropped low enough. Any further and there’d be nothing left to the imagination.

Dressed like that, and now dragging Emma’s hand to feel his chest?

There was no way Drake could tolerate this.

A sudden, wracking cough tore through the room, shattering the thick, charged atmosphere Alaric had so carefully constructed.

Drake pushed himself upright, his whole body wavering unsteadily, and let himself collapse weakly toward Emma as though every ounce of strength had drained out of him.

The next instant, Drake’s warm, solid chest pressed firmly against Emma’s back,

He wrapped one long arm around her slender waist from behind, resting his head limply in the curve of her neck, his hot, ragged breath washing over her ear.

Emmaeverything hurts so much.

Drake’s voice came out hoarse and strained, carrying the faintest, barely perceptible tremor, as though he might slip back into unconsciousness at any second.

Those deep, dark eyes of his had gone hazy and unfocused, all traces of his usual dominance and icy composure wiped away, replaced entirely by helpless, fragile dependence.

Alaric watched Drake’s performance, that convincing display of weakness threatening to collapse at any moment.

His eyes narrowed slightly, and he silently cursed the man’s shamelessness.

Emma,

Seeing that Emma’s attention had drifted entirely toward Drake, Alaric quickly seized her wrist and pressed her palm firmly against his own chest instead.

His voice dropped low, carrying a faint, barely there note of hurt. Don’t just worry about him.

My heartis racing pretty hard too, you know.

Drake’s expression darkened instantly.

The arm wrapped around Emma’s waist tightened just slightly, and his voice grew even lower and more strained. Emma, my head’s starting to spin a little too.

Emma felt like a sandwich filling, squeezed between the two of them.

Behind her, Drake’s hot, solid chest pressed against her back. In front of her, Alaric stood with his sleepwear slipping past his shoulders, leaving almost nothing hidden from view.

One in front, one behind. One cold, one burning hot.

Emma had no way of feeling just how fast Alaric’s heart was actually racing.

She only knew her own heart was pounding hard enough to hurt.

This was going to be the death of her.

Standing by the doorway, Edric, who’d originally been heading toward the kitchen, watched the shameless display unfolding between Alaric and Drake, his eye twitching violently.

He’d always thought he couldn’t quite compete with Silas or Lucien when it came to making Emma happy, but he’d figured he still

held his own.

Compared to these two, though, he was clearly out of his league entirely.

Edric pressed his lips together and pulled up his interface.

A moment later, a new video appeared in the group chat.

Edric sent a video to the group chat.

He tagged Marcus, Corvin, Callum, and Jim. All of you need to study this closely.

Jim texted a question mark.

Calum texted, These two have zero shame. Especially Drake. Never would’ve guessed he had this in him.

Kieran tagged Edrie. That’s discrimination. Why tag them and not me? I don’t know how to do this stuff either.

Lucien chimed in, Next time, please tag me too. I need the lesson just as much. Thanks.

Malrik added, Same here!

Corvin tagged Edric. Why would you tag me? Emma already loves me plenty!

Edric scoffed. Sure she does.

Silas texted, Let them have then fun. But if Emma ever gets upset, have Jim pull both of them out of there immediately.

Silas genuinely didn’t mind the competition or the chaos between them, as long as it kept Emma happy.

But the moment someone actually upset her

Edric answered, Understood!

Corvin texted, Where’s Marcus? Why hasn’t he said anything?

Even Jim just posted a question mark, but Marcus hasn’t typed a single word.

Edric had just finished reading Corvin’s message when a sudden sound of footsteps.echoed from the far end of the hallway.

The footsteps landed heavy and deliberate, almost like something was stomping across the floorboards.

Edric turned toward the sound, and the moment he laid eyes on the creature approaching, even his usual calm composure cracked, his eye twitching violently twice in a row.

At the end of the hallway, Marcus, the same half dead, listless wolf Corvin had just mentioned, was strutting forward with an elegant, felineno, wolfish gait.

Worse still, Marcus had shrunk his entire body down to the size of a full grown ragdoll cat.

His snow white fur puffed out softly around him, and someone had tied several red silk ribbons around his waist and front paws, fashioned into a bow that looked equal parts ridiculous and strangely flattering to his figure.

But the most absurd detail of all hung around his neck, a small golden bell, and tied to the base of his tail was a delicate string holding a shiny, rainbow colored cat toy wand.

With every step he took, the little bell chimed softly through the air.

That cat toy wand swayed behind him with each movement, tracing an oddly tempting arc through the air.

Edric drew in a slow breath, quietly pulling up his camera, and silently aimed the lens directly at Marcus.

Another message popped up in the group chat.

Edric sent another video to the group chat.

Edric texted, I’m retracting my previous statement. The true master has been quietly preparing this entire time.He tagged everyone. Come witness greatness.
